What Lurks. . . [Full Moon Boss]

It was a normal night in the bustling city of Tokyo. The streets were filled with people and lights could be seen in any direction despite how late it was now. It was a night much like the one about a month ago; in the sense that a bright full moon hung overhead. Again, the whispers of a shrouded figure could be heard only from a small secluded area. Nobody would see nor hear what had occurred at that moment, but it probably mattered not. What would matter was the newly formed and pulsating seal that began to expand as the clock struck twelve.

Once more, time froze for the city and the inhabitants therein. This time it was not the crowded crosswalk of Shibuya Crossing that would be under siege, but the lovely Sunshine City within Toshima. The large purple seal had finally expanded to its maximum size before disappearing. No cracks opened up from the ground, nor did anything seem to rumble or shake. What did occur, was a light flood that seemed to coat the city floor. Yes, coated. The entirety of Sunshine city seemed to be flooded with an inch or two of water. What was odd was the fact that there was no rain. So, what caused it?

Just then, a noise could be heard. It wasn't loud, but it seemed to be coming through the water. Just then, a large squid-like creature seemed to jump straight out of the inch-high water. The large purple being shot out of the water, then hit the ground with a large thump. With countless tentacles, a menacing mouth, and two suspicious eyes, this thing looked ready for action.

It was another full moon tonight. Suffice to say, what Ringo saw before him, was in someways better and in some ways worst than what he saw the previous. The good news is, there isn't a crack to the underworld and a gigantic three headed dog coming out of it...the bad news is that the entire area is flooded to about 5 centimeters of water and there is a gigantic squid.

Ringo looked at the knife in his hand. Yeeeaaah, this was not going to do at all. Granted, it didn't contribute much to the Cerberus incident but none the less. His eyes began to glow. Maybe he could get a beginning shot? Rama readied his arrow and aimed at the Kraken. The first shot was fired.

[Kate Minola]

"First Cerberus, now a fuckin' giant cephalopod," Kate grumbled, staring up at the newly appeared monstrosity.

It was full moon again and Kate couldn't help but notice that they had another giant creature on their hands again. It seemed like the power of the Shadows and demons waxed and waned with the moon. Ironic. The whole of Sunshine City was flooded with water and Kate waded through it to get closer. How appropriate.

She had been wandering nearby when she noticed the strange glow and the water flooding everything, prompting her to investigate.

This thing makes me think of grilled octopus, she thought and almost laughed.

Bringing her bow down from her back, she drew an arrow from her quiver and nocked it. Until Lulu or someone with scanning capabilities got to the scene, she'd experiment with some attacks. With all those tentacles she suspected they'd have to be hitting multiple targets, but for the time being she'd contend with some experimental shots.

She drew her bow and fired a dark arrow straight between the thing's eyes.

Well this has been shit right from the getgo. It was a full moon for one, and Amane's memories of the last full moon were not at all pleasant. So what in the world she was doing here? Well, it was kind of hard to stay put when the god damn kraken monstrosity is not far from her apartment and she knows her apartment is anything but a fortress...

...so here she was, shaking in horror at this thing and has a nervous grip on her bokken. Yeah, like this stick was going to help. Amane tried to focus herself. Her eyes glowed but only for a moment. Yeah, this wasn't exactly good. She started to step back more and more and raised her wooden sword in self defense. Maybe she should've stayed at the apartment.

[Hisui Inagawa]

Hisui hadn't expected tonight to be anything more than a routine investigation. She was scheduled to sweep a new section of Shinjuku, but those plans went out the window as the clock struck midnight. An ominous sensation drew her eyes toward Toshima, and at the sight of a hulking silhouette moving between the buildings, Hisui broke into a run.

The water splashed around Hisui's ankles as she charged onto the scene. She was momentarily irritated at the prospect of having to wash the mud out of her suit, but the thought was soon pushed out of her head by the sight of the tentacled monstrosity.

This thing was doubtless far stronger than any of the entities Hisui had encountered previously. It would require a new strategy.

"Zarathustra!"

The mechanical angel appeared in a flash of light. The plates on its chest immediately began to shift and split open, revealing its insides to be a blindingly bright furnace. A coherent pulse of light shot out, slamming into the squid-thing with a dull thump and filling the air around it with glowing motes of dust.

Only then did Hisui stop to see who else was here. The crowd was... small. It contained no one she recognized. She fervently hoped that there were many more to arrive. Focusing her mind on telepathic communication, she desperately sent out a message to anyone else in her meager range.

"I've made it more difficult for this thing to resist indirect forms of attack! Hold it back until reinforcements arrive!"

Today felt different as Marina walked towards Sunshine City. For one thing, a full moon was out tonight. Something about it in the sky during the Dark Hour was....ominous. It made Marina feel uneasy, but she couldn't quite place why that was. For that matter, she almost felt drawn towards Sunshine City today. It wasn't exactly a place she had planned on exploring during the Dark Hour quite yet. However, as she arrived she started to understand why she may have been drawn here. The whole place was practically flooded. She waded in the water for a bit and that's when she saw it.

It was a giant monster in the middle of the area. It looked squid like and for sure was not something anyone could handle alone. She looked around and noticed a few people had arrived to take care of this thing already. She noticed the one girl she had run into at the university first, readying an attack. It was decided then that she would start with her. Marina summoned Apsaras, and started waving her arms alongside her Persona. She then aimed her arm towards the girl from the university. Hopefully the extra power boost would help.

Lucretia was feeling disgrunted this evening. Progress was slow, she wasn't learning much, her abilities weren't growing much, and it was all making her grumpier than usual. On top of that, she hadn't been sleeping very well for quite some time, mostly because of how annoyed she was at the lack of progress. Most of the time she was able to look relatively presentable despite her lack of sleep, but tonight she just looked irritated and disheviled. Tonight was also supposed to be a fairly routine investigation, but the moment she summoned Coeus to look around, she felt a strong presence hit her like a brick. It looked like it was going to be another one of THOSE nights.

Before arriving at the scene, she used the strange blonde woman's train to broadcast a message across the area, much like last time this happened. This creature was just as strong as the cerberus, so it was important that as many people as possible gather here. Once her brief trip was finished, she arrived at the scene, and got ready to fight. Or heal as the case may be.

The water in the area didn't do anything to help her poor mood. It was difficult to move in, and there were few things she hated more than wet socks. Given the creature was some kind of sea monster, this was not an adventageous place to fight. Unfortunately, it would likely be difficult to make the creature move. Lucretia suspected that if they didn't show up, it would be content to just rampage across the town. Her brow furrowed further, she pushed up her glasses, and took a closer look at the creature.

Tonight, Shizuka didn't wake up to the usual noises outside. Tonight, she woke up to just a feeling of wrongness, a feeling of danger. There was something going on outside, but she didn't know what. She carefully put on her beat up clothes she fought in, grabbed her weapon and headed outside. It was far away, but even from here she could feel the earth shake. Way in the distance, she noticed a giant monster. Given how far away it must have been, that thing must have been bigger than some of the buildings. She gulped. Could she even fight something like that? She wasn't sure, but she didn't think she could just let it live. Something that big could hurt a lot of people, and she didn't want to let that happen.

Shizuka approached the area cuatiously. If the elevators were working, she would have preferred to find a nice vantage point on a far away building where she would be able to shoot it without it being able to hit her. However, these things were probably magic weren't they? Would that even work? What if they hit the building she was standing on? The fall would definitely kill her. So, unfortunately, it looked like she was going to have to get a lot closer than she liked.

Shizuka was relieved to see that there were other people here. The more people that were here, the higher the odds that they'd be able to take down this monster. However, there were a cuple of people that stood out to her.

"Eh? Hisui, you can see all this too?"

She approached the other girl, and stood next to her, and waved at Marina, the other person she recognized, as well. It was nice that she wasn't going to have to fight with a group of strangers this time. She smiled, but it quickly turned into a more serious expression as she turned her focus back to the monster. It was time to see how many bullets it had to take before it fell down like the rest.

Well, it seemed like there was going to be an encore. Of course, it wasn't entirely outside of Akira's expectations. Still, perhaps he had been clinging to some sort of foolish optimism up to that point? Either way, he had arrived at the scene of the battle- Sunshine City. Their opponent? A hentai fanatic's dream. He slowly shook his head. Hopefully there wouldn't be any tentacles trying to drag them underneath the water. The young man, riding atop his Persona, just let out a quiet sigh. Well, it was time to get ready. He didn't have an auto-boost anymore. It had upgraded.

”Let's do it, Hayagriva. Luster Candy.” And so a wave of invigoration surged from the horse and to selective targets. They'd need to ensure two things: their capable supports and their hitters. Needless to say, he had his targets picked out pretty easily.

And so it happened again. Ariane’s emerald eyes scowled up at the full moon as she stood ankle deep in water. Thankfully her heavy boots kept her socks dry for the most part, but she had a sinking feeling that they wouldn’t stay like that long enough. Considering how the fight went the last time they fought a giant, mythical creature, she didn’t keep her hopes very high. Well, on the bright side of all of this; with all the water everywhere she had a feeling she was safe from fire this time around.

Rolling her shoulders, she glanced back around to everyone else that had shown up for the fight. Quite a few familiar faces from before, but even a few that she hadn’t seen before. She lifted an eyebrow, but waved and smiled tiredly to those she knew. “Hey guys, looks like we’re up for another super fun night, huh?” Cracking her knuckles and rolling her shoulders, she shifted her focus back to the calamari.

Considering Kate had already poked it with a dark attack, she’d keep her own up her sleeve─literally─until they found out how it fared. For now, she’d test out her usual. A wave of strength thanks to Akira made her feel even more empowered than her limber muscles alone usually did, and she put all that into her punch as she gave the seafood all she could. Maybe this time around they could make quicker work of it than they did the pup.

Luka had a strange feeling in her head. It was a feeling that she knew all too well despite only experiencing it once before. It was when she felt the urge to leave the house to go fight that Cerberus demon. That was what brought her to this partially flooded area in the city. But really, why was it flooded right now? It would seem their enemy was some sort of strange squid monster. Well, that just meant it would be much easier to slice this thing up, right? Without much of a word to anyone, Luka began slicing straight into the enemies. She could already feel herself empowered by the buff Akira had placed on her. Hopefully everyone would be dealing plenty of damage to the enemy.

Frederick was actually dressed this time around. He had noticed that the Cerberus encounter occurred on a full moon. While it was purely suspicion, he prepared on the next full moon, just in case. Seemed that that type of thinking was working in his favor. Luck-y~! He looked like a stereotypical Texan thanks to that. Instead of his usual cap, he wore an honest cowboy hat. His pants were set with a belt that had a rather large plate with a buffalo design over the center. Leather boots, no spurs, and a sleeveless vest over his first shirt completed his attire. He had to make up for that first fight.

”Let's do it. Time for some beaten kalamari.” Riki leveled his hat and nodded to the group as he summoned Zouchouten. It was time to rock. And roll. And smack down. And all that. Zouchouten appeared and, with Fred's wishes, leveled both of its arms before firing its hands at the tentacle beast. Immediately afterward, the hands reformed at the ends of its arms. Infinite ammo without the bandana, baby.

Crispin really needed to learn to time things better.  His apartment wasn't even completely unpacked yet, and the moon already hung full overhead.  If his time in America dealing with this nonsense taught him anything, it was that full moons were bad news.  Rather than spend his day unpacking, the foreigner had spent it digging through the boxes he apparently did a shoddy job labeling just to get all of his tools.  

By the time midnight had rolled around, he was ready.  Well.  He was as ready as he would be for a last minute fight.  He really, really should have left for Japan a couple weeks earlier.  Despite not doing the best of jobs preparing, he figured it should be plenty for how long things had seemed to be going on around here.  The only problem he was worried about was how rusty he had probably gotten since then.  Of course he had summoned Babd since then─just in case─but beyond that he wasn't quite sure how in the swing of things he could be.  

His mid-length dark dray trench coat was cinched around his waist, and his ornate (and admittedly silly looking) crossbow was strapped across his shoulder.  Shoving his hands in his pocket, he headed out the door as the clock struck midnight.  As soon as it hit, a pit in his stomach curdled and his nose scrunched up.  Yep, there it was.  When he left his apartment building and saw the train nearby, he was actually pretty surprised.  They didn't have that when he was in America.  It would have made his time there a heck of a lot easier.  

As soon as he stepped off of it and into the water, however, he was beginning to wonder if maybe he should have just stayed home and unpacked.  Sighing, he looked around and tried to get an idea of just what they had here.  At the very least, they had quite a few built up here.  It was something, at least.  Nodding his greeting to the others, he picked out who looked like they needed a little pick-me-up the most.  One of the others already buffed up a few of them, which just left Crispin with a few of the ones left, of course, himself.

Focusing for a moment, Babd and her large warhorn appeared above him, a sound trumpeting out of it and empowering a few of the others who hadn't been already.  He had a feeling the shellfish was getting ready to act; they'd just have to wait and see what exactly that meant.

The Kraken very quickly turned its attention to the small humans who had surrounded him in his pool. They were going to try and fight him, huh? So be it. He had taken a few hits of varying ability, but nothing seemed to be particularly effective against him. Everything seemed pretty much standard. The fight was just beginning, after all.

To start off, the Kraken twists its body slightly before twirling around at insane speeds, letting its tentacles slam into everyone, hitting the group for Major Strike damage.

Finally, the oversized squid sucked in before releasing a deadly cold ice spray on Fred and Hisui for Severe Ice damage!

Afterward, the beast would try to deflect as many blows as it could using its tentacles.

Splosh, splosh, splosh. The damn floor was flooded. It didn't rain during these Dark Hours, since this whole place becomes disconnected from the world or some other kind of weird mumbo-jumbo, right? So, what's up with all of this water? He could only guess that someone broke a fire hydrant. But, even then, it wouldn't cause his feet to be an inch deep in concrete-touched liquid. It probably had to do with this particular night. Yes, this was a Full Moon. The last time a full moon shined down on Tokyo, a dog popped out of a portal.

It was sort of the same this time, with a giant tentacle monster popping out of some unknown depth of water within this one-inch, wide puddle. Okay, so what was to be done now with the enemy? Why, skewer it and make Takoyaki!!

Out of nowhere, both the Black Knight and Yuuki dashed into the battle, droplets dropping and dripping off of the Persona's metallic armor. Small plinks and plunks of said droplets from the surface of his Persona onto the surface of the pool dripple droppled to their fates of... reassimilation. Well, let's see what's next.

Making a large splash from where it once was, the bestial knight attempted to stab its entire arm into the Kraken's main body, jumping back a few feet in front of Yuuki. In its hand was a darkened energy. It crushed it within its claws, and the power flowed into the Persona-user himself. The rejuvenating feeling was irrelevant for the moment, but he had to make sure it worked.
