The Runabout [Open] [Party of 2]

Kyle sauntered through the park, rather actively looking for demons to fight. His latest experiences had taught him that he was quite sorely unprepared for serious combat. Kate had advised him to train by fighting weaker enemies in order to build up his experience and abilities. It made sense (kind of) and Kyle supplemented that by starting to work out a little bit in his off time. He was always a strong bastard but he figured that he needed to step his game up in light of recent events.

He couldn't believe that he was taking advice from a butterball like that girl, but after seeing her fight once, he was convinced. She was pretty sharp with that bow and her Persona packed a punch. It motivated him. Surely he could be stronger than her!

"Come on you sorry little gits, where are you?" he muttered under his breath, swinging his axe up and resting it on his shoulder.

[Shizuka Konaya]

After hearing that there were demonic portals appearing throughout the city, Shizuka knew that she was going to have to investigate them eventually.  The real question was how.  It would be dangerous to go into such an area unarmed, but her weapon was really big and noticeable.  Plus, she wasn't really supposed to bring it outside the house, and right now she wasn't really supposed to leave the house unless she had to go to school or pick up something her mom wanted.

Fortunately, today gave her an opportunity.  Today, she had practice, which meant that she had an excuse to take her rifle out of the house.  Second, the practice ended early, and the lunch they were supposed to have afterwards was rescheduled due to outside circumstances.  This meant that she would have her weapon, and her parents wouldn't be expecting her home for a couple of hours still.  Hopefully that would be enough time to at least take a peek into one of the portals.  Shizuka really wanted to see these demons for herself.  Sadly, she had no idea what these portals looked like, but if there were demonic portals throughout the city then it seemed like they'd be hard to miss.

Sure enough, as she was passing through the park she noticed a swirling dark mass of shadow.  This had to be what Tristan was talking about that one night.  Shizuka cautiously approached it, and after fidgeting near it, carefully put her hand into it.  Before she knew it, she was on the other side.  It looked a lot like the park, she could see some of the nearby landmarks, but it was completely different.  It was very demonic indeed.  Shizuka slunk down in the tall grass and other plants to hide and began looking around for any demons.  

Shizuka quickly came upon...someone, but he looked human.  Tristan's words suggested that the demons did not look human.  Was he wrong, or was this really a human?  She fidgeted in the grass and readied her gun, though she didn't point it directly at him.  She would just be ready if he made any weird movements, or if anything else weird happened.  

[Alice]

You thought you'd have a safe little fight with some weakling demons? Wrong! It's a boss! A wave of energy could be felt, and a literal rail built of ice materialized as a rather odd-looking hairy titan rode. . . a definitely-organic sled along the rails. With a two-way “Wahoo!” the two bodies slammed into the ground and slid forward! Coincidentally, they were very near to some humans. The hairy giant hopped off of his Oni-sled, stretching his arms out. Though he had blue skin revealed in spaces, he had an excess of hair, almost looking a bit like an ape. Why, if you had to draw a connection to something in the park, it looked like a Troll on steroids. The Oni, as well, seemed to have a bit of hair, especially popping out from its vest.

”Feel the chill; ice-riding will put hair on your chest! Gyahaha. My boss used to have us ride the air waves, but this is just as good!” The Trollgre cackled as his second underling appeared.

”Boss Ogre” Trollgre appeared!

[Ringo Shiro]

Ringo wandered around this bizarre demon filled world located in Shibuya. It seemed like even after defeating that three headed dog, supernatural horrors would still plague this place. A bit of an optimistic thought but it didn't hurt for him to think that. Actually come to think of things plaguing the area, wasn't it more than a bit cold.

”Feel the chill; ice-riding will put hair on your chest! Gyahaha. My boss used to have us ride the air waves, but this is just as good!” Ringo found the source...and oh boy was it hard to believe. An ice rail and a group of trolls appear to be accosting two people.”Hohoho. I smell some humans. Let's go wish them a Merry Fuckin' Fistmas.”

"Um..." With that moment of confusion, Ringo more or less exposed himself. He quickly placed a hand on his dagger and his eyes glowed. As he did a purple veil of light shone over him. What mess did I get into now?

[Shizuka Konaya]

Shizuka continued watching the possibly-human-possibly-demon for a little while, and was eventually distracted by the sound of laughter.  She cautiously looked over her shoulder and saw icy rails appearing and a strange looking humanoid creature riding along them on other strange looking humanoid creatures.  Her eyes narrowed and she followed them with her eyes intently.  These must be the demons that Tristan was talking about. They certainly looked much more demonic at least.  Given the way they were looking at her and the person she had been staring at for a little while, the person must be human as well.  Good, they would be able to fight off these demons together.  There were several of them, so it would be hard for her to do it herself.

Shizuka stood up, letting her head peek above the grass.  She waved to the other human and started to ready her weapon.  It was times like this that she was glad she had been practicing with it a lot, and had been learning how to use it for about seven years now.  Even if she was only human, that level of experience was what was letting her hold these monsters off in the past.

"I-I'll help!"

She took a few steps back and attempted to hide in some bushes for a little bit of cover.  It probably wouldn't be nearly enough given the kinds of attacks the shadows could use.  Tristan said they were fairly similar in that regard.  If anything, she was just getting into cover out of habit.  From there, it was just a matter of deciding on a target.  One of them looked really strong, he was likely the leader.  The other two didn't look quite as strong as that one, so they seemed like better targets for now.  If they were able to eliminate the weaker ones quickly, the team wouldn't be able to attack them as much, and her and her allies would hopefully not be hurt as badly.  That seemed like the best way to go for now.

Marina walked cautiously through the Dark World version of Yoyogi park. She had decided to give this area another walk through. Even if she was a bit more nervous around this area than she had been before. After all, last time she was here she had almost died. She would much rather be exploring a different area, but she couldn't avoid this spot for long. Better to get it over with sooner rather than later. As long as she didn't run into any enemies that could summon lightning again, she would be fine.

After walking around for awhile, she noticed a familiar face. It was the boy she had seen a few times at the supermarket during the Dark Hour. He was engaged with some kind of...troll...thing? Or maybe it was an ogre? Whatever it was, it looked like it would be difficult to fight and it even had two smaller creatures with it as well. Marina took in her surroundings and noticed a girl she didn't recognize with a rifle and...someone else she recognized. That boy she had gone on a mission with, Ringo. She wasn't sure how much help she could be, but she couldn't very well stand there and do nothing right?

As she approached she summoned Apsaras, both of them starting to wave their arms around. When they were finished, she aimed her hand at the boy from the supermarket. He would feel stronger for a little while. "Allow me to help. This one looks like trouble," she said when she finally was in speaking distance.

[Takumi Fujioka]

Takumi had heard some ruckus nearby in the strange park. He was used to hearing strange noises in this area, but this noise was definitely a lot more suspicious. Louder too. He would of course soon find that looking into the noise would be well worth the effort. A large, loud-mouthed troll and his two cronies seemed to be talking smack. Aside from him, there were some more humans. Most of them were new faces that he didn't recognize. He wasn't sure if he should be glad or worried about that fact. He was pretty sure that creep from the other fight would be dead by now. What a waste of space he was. Just thinking about that fight with the plant made his blood boil. It was also the reason that, despite having no other abilities, he wouldn't bother trying to defend people. Not yet anyway. It would be better to see what kind of attacks this thing would be throwing out before doing anything like that.

Of course, this would leave him with very little for himself to do. He saw no reason to heal, and that was his only other option. So, instead, Takumi did something he would probably never attempt again. He ran at one of the oni and tried to hit it with his shield arm. As soon as it connected, he could feel the impact, but could tell that nothing came of it. Unsatisfying. Well, as horrible as it was to think in such a way, he could do something as soon as people started dying. That's when he was most useful.

Well, didn't look like a lot of attacks would be used in that fight. Or so the Trollgre believed, laughing to himself after the display. The Oni receiving the attacks, though mildly injured, was still, in fact, alive. Things would be different this time! He would lead his underlings to victory!

Oni B uses Tarukaja on Trollgre!

The Trollgre reached for Oni A, who let out a “Let's do it, boss!” Gripping the Oni's legs, the Trollgre slammed his underling down on Shizuka for Moderate Strike damage!

A follow-up swing slammed down on Takumi for Moderate Strike damage! Coincidentally, the Oni took damage from both hits, but he managed to endure the pain!

Oni A charged forward, half-stumbling, and crashed into Ringo using Viper Smash!

Nice and slow was how the rabbit won. Except they were stylish like the bird of paradise. In their own unique way.

[Ringo Shiro]

Well, this was sure an unbelievable sight. Ringo just gazed upon the fact that the troll just picked up one of its comrades and used him to attack people. He raised his knife in defense but he wasn't exactly sure if it was going to block...an entire ogre. The ogre was then tossed over at him. Ringo did his best to withstand the impact. He succeed...a little bit. 

"Well this is turning into an interesting day..." Ringo's eyes began to glow as Rama appeared. "Rapid Needles!" The blue skinned figure loaded his bow with numerous arrows and launched them at the three ogres.

[Shizuka Konaya]

Shizuka's eyes widened as she saw others enter the area and what they did.  There were 3 more here now, and most of them had a summoned phantom that let them do amazing things.  She wasn't sure what they were doing, but it looked really cool!  There were brightly colored lights everywhere!  A cursory glance revealed that none of them did anything to the enemies though.  At least, the enemies looked perfectly fine, sans the small gunshot wound one of the demons had.  What were they doing then?  Normally she would just ask, but such conversation in the middle of battle probably wasn't wise.  She needed to focus.

As evidenced by her being momentarily distracted enough to not notice the demon being slammed right into her.  It hurt, but it looked like it only left some bruises instead of shattered bones.  She still hadn't gotten used to how much more durable her body was.  However, this meant that the demons actually touched her.  Shizuka let out a small shriek and began examining her body.  Aside from the affects of the attack, she appeared to be fine.  Really, scripture said absolutely nothing about having demons literally touch you; the touching was always figurative because they can't actually physically interact with humans in the world.  Unsurprisingly, it seemed like the Watchtower didn't think that anyone would be able to enter the spirit realm at all.  Well, she was here because she was fighting them, and they only touched her because they were hurting her, so it seemed unlikely it would be a bad thing in this case.  It still made her feel disgusting though.  She would definitely need a shower when she got home.

On the bright side, it looked like one of the demons was on its last legs and would fall soon.  In fact, one of the magic people was using an attack that would likely hit all of them based on the trajectory of the needles.  It was ridiculously cool, but Shizuka was too disgusted by the demons' move to really appreciate it.  She just had to decide whether she should shoot the near dead one, or the other weaker one.  The real question was whether she thought the other person's magic would finish it off or not.  It was barely standing, so she was willing to take a chance and fire at the second one.

Marina could hardly believe her eyes when the giant Troll creature grabbed one of his little followers and used him to attack two of the people that had gathered. It was probably one of the more bizarre things she had seen, in an increasingly longer list of strange things. Lucky for her the Troll had not decided to attack her. She looked around, unsure what she should do next. She could heal them, or power someone up. Everyone seemed on their feet still for now. Plus, she wasn't sure what everyone else could do. She decided on powering someone up, after all they need to do some damage to these creatures.

Her Persona started waving her arms and she did as well, both matching what the other was doing. When it was finally done, she aimed toward the girl with the rifle. She had been the only one to have seemed to have damaged the demons last time. They needed every edge they could get. Plus, she looked the most scared out of all of them. The extra strength would hopefully ease her if only a little bit.

Kyle had been knocked clear from the actual battleground upon the damn freak's arrival - straight into a bush, much to his shame.

He disentangled himself from it and ran right back to where the others were; he hadn't even noticed there were so many people in the park.

"Argh, stupid piece of shit!" he barked. "Throw me into a bush, why don't ya! Sorry guys," he muttered.

He gave a sharp nod to the blue-haired girl for the little boost. He felt quicker on his feet and more eager to deal some damage than ever. He narrowed his eyes at the battlefield. So this asshole used his own damn mooks to attack?

"This is all kinds of fucked up," he muttered and summoned his Persona.

He crashed his axe into the floating card and Sitri leaped out of the light, hunching down and stretching its wings. It roared and called down multiple bolts of lightning that covered the entire area.

[Takumi Fujioka]

It would seem that this would be another one of those pain in the ass fights. They had plenty of firepower at least. Takumi was hit by one of the attacks, but managed to stabilize himself pretty easily. It wasn't exactly a strong attack. Since people were being hit now, there was no reason for him to not do what he could do best. I can focus on healing. You guys can focus on killing or whatever else you can do. At least one of them was capable of putting down buffs on people. If they wanted to do that, it would be fine. These levels of attacks would be extremely easy to take care of though. Was this thing going to be a pushover compared to the other fight? Takumi knew that was a dangerous thought. Every time he thought like that, the worst possible thing would come from it.

Taking a backseat role like usual, Takumi's Slime sent a strong healing pulse around everyone, healing them to hopefully top condition. Hopefully the fight was going to be as anti-climatic as this last turn.

[Alice]

Pierce and Lightning seemed to do neutral damage on the Trollgre! Meanwhile, Oni A fell over and didn't get up. He needed Life Alert, clearly. Oni B, however, endured the assault! It didn't seem like a terrible lot of the humans were attacking. That was slightly fortunate. With unspoken words, the boss and underling nodded at each other!

The Trollgre tossed Oni B into the air! Furthermore, he slammed his fist into Takumi with an uppercut for Moderate Strike damage!

Oni B followed up with Viper Smash to knock Takumi back to the ground! The subsequent fall damage also caused Oni B to pass out. Life Alert indeed.

”Seems like my underlings are out for now. Hmph. Fine. Let's see if you know how to chill.” The Trollgre clenched his fists before flexing. The air around him began to grow cold! As frost turned the demon's hair white, it seemed as though his defense had increased!

The demon flexed further and seemed to be charging something up!

Also, coincidentally, it seemed like he automatically regenerated some of his health. Have fun with that.

[Shizuka Konaya]

Momentarily after she was attacked, her wounds just...vanished.  Based on the other peoples' words this was the effect of some magical ability they had.  She would never be able to get over how cool that was, and being able to experience it herself was just amazing.  It barely hurt at all anymore, and she was able to fight as though those wounds never happened in the first place.  She would still need a shower later to wash away the demon touch, but she doubted anyone could do anything about that.  One of the other users made her feel stronger, and more accurate.   All of this was just amazing and it made her a little jealous that she couldn't do anything like that herself.  Sometimes, she wondered how she was able to fight these things at all compared to these people, but she seemed to be doing okay so far at least.  For now, the best thing she could do was line up another shot and try to help the strong people bring down this demon.
