Defense of the front door [OPEN, party of 2]

It was another night, and thus there were more sounds coming from outside.  Shizuka was still completely unable to sleep through them, so once again, she put on some beat up clothes, grabbed her weapon and headed outside.  As long as she was there, none of them would get inside her family's apartment.  She could hear some rustling in the bushes, so that must have been where they were this time.  She took a few steps closer to get a good angle, then aimed and waited for the monsters to jump out of the bushes and try to hit her as usual.  This time, she wouldn't be distracted and they wouldn't sneak up on her.

The Dark Hour fatigue set in. Yuuki's eyes drooped uneasily, and his vision was fuzzy enough that it could be pet, cuddled, and called Fido. The quietness of the neighborhood was unsettling to him, and it made him feel naked. Usually, he was driven home in some sort of nice car of limousine like one of those American celebrities. He enjoyed the roominess and the solitude within a confined space. Here, the night breeze almost evoked shivers from his fingers and legs. The broadness and the darkness scared him enough that he forced himself to stay awake. Well, he tried at least.

But, that wasn't enough. Yuuki felt weakness overtake him, and he fell into the bushes, making a loud noise while he fell forward. A twig poked at his eye, and he jumped up. There was a girl in front of him. And she had a weapon trained upon him. A gun. A gun. A gun. Why did she have a gun. Instinctively, he called upon his Persona, a tall, dark, and armored shape that stood between him and the girl with the rifle.

"Please, don't make any moves. Or else... I'll... I'll..."

This wasn't legal.

[Shizuka Konaya]

Shizuka readied her shot and was just about to shoot when she saw that what popped out of the bush wasn't a monster, but a human with a magic person like so many of the other humans she saw.  Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth with one of her hands.  She just nearly shot another person.  It was times like this that she wondered why she was trusted to own a weapon like this anyway.

"Ah!" she bowed her head and her face flushed a bit.  "Oh, I am so sorry I thou--"

Before she could finish, something shot her in the back.  Even when she was so resolved not to get distracted like this, she still managed to be surprised by the monsters.  At least this time the attack didn't hurt very much.  Shizuka quickly turned around and began to shoot at the monster.  Unfortunately, it didn't look like her attacks were doing very much to it either.  To make matters worse, it was healing itself.  To make matters even worse than that somehow, it managed to drain her life force in order to heal itself, making her attack completely pointless.  It didn't seem like she was going to be able to hurt this enemy too badly.  She continued firing because there wasn't much else she could do.  Hopefully the piddly amounts of damage she was doing would add up after awhile.
