Primal Urges [ Party of 2, Open]

Kyle felt a bit more confident, strutting around during the Dark Hour. He'd run into Kate in his neighborhood, who offered to join him but he'd refused. He didn't need that butterball.

He was rather impressed with how different the park was during the Dark Hour. It looked like it ran wild. He had to admit that he was a little bit intimidated by the atmosphere and felt better having his Persona walking beside him. It amazed him that it was so easy to summon it and effortless to keep him around. Sure, it couldn't talk and... acted a lot like a cat, frankly, ignoring him unless he gave it a direct order (or sometimes, just thought it) and would lie down and lounge when Kyle stopped.

He used his axe to hack at some weird plant matter just to see what it'd do. When it failed to respond, he frowned and moved along.

[Tristan Carter]

The park was, in Tristan's opinion, the best place to see how much the boy had grown. The other areas, while a good test of his skills, seemed to feel just as difficult as the park used to feel. As such, Tristan wanted to fight against something from the area to get a good feel for how much stronger he had gotten.

After walking around for a bit, Tristan saw a kid who looked about his age. He seemed to be wielding an ax, Tristan noticed. Not that it was a big deal. Tristan approached and stretched out his hand. "Tristan," he said before putting on a joking smile. Then, using the voice of a far older man, he continued. "Say, sonny, don't you think it's a bit past yer bedtime?"

Kyle turned around and saw a guy his age talking and play-acting an older man. He frowned a bit - his face was familiar, did he go to the same school as him? Kyle never could really remember faces. Oh well. Another Persona User.

"Right back at you, punk," he said with a wry smile. "Name's Kyle."

When the two damn fairies exploded out of the undergrowth to attack them, Kyle was hardly surprised. He was getting used to being assaulted any time he went out during the Dark Hour.

"Better watch your back, man," he muttered to the other guy in jest, before getting down to deal with the non-flying, pointy-eared chick that attacked him.

She grinned wickedly and weirdly, started to sing sweetly. Kyle felt his eyelids get heavy for a moment, but he snapped out of it and shook his head quickly, clearing the fog from off him. "What the hell, trying to put me to sleep -- you think that's funny!?" he snarled and charged the creature, swinging his axe and catching her in the side.

The blow should've all but severed the delicate-looking creature in two but as it was, it only sent her stumbling backwards. She appeared to have a furious expression and unleashed a blast of wind right at him. Kyle, remembering how much that had hurt last time he'd been exposed to it, jumped to the side and had no problem landing right in a bush to avoid it.

"Sitri, get her stupid ass!" he snarled, pulling himself out of the affronted shrub.

The leopard lazily stood up and swung a large paw into the air and down, creating a slashing motion that carried over to the elf and knocked it back again. Kyle commanded Sitri to repeat the action and the Persona complied, giving Kyle enough time to get ready for the counter-attack, which was obviously another blast of wind. This time, Kyle stood his ground and weathered it. It almost knocked him on his ass but he grit his teeth and charged, swinging his axe and chopping the goddamn fairy to pieces.

As the other boy introduced himself, Tristan smiled. The kid certainly looked familiar, but his name didn't really ring any bells. Maybe they went to school together. Either way, Tristan was glad that someone else seemed to have a sense of humor. He started to reply when the demons attacked. Kyle seemed to go after the elf, so that left Tristan with a fairy-thing.

Tristan thought for a moment while he adjusted his gauntlets. If he remembered correctly, this particular fairy was weak to fire. "Don't worry, kid, I can handle myself," he said to Kyle as he drew back his fist. He wasn't overly strong compared to certain other Users ("Blue" came to mind), but he was sure with the Petal Puncher, he could still deal a good deal of damage.

The pixie tried to land a decisive first blow with a blast of lightning. Rather than dodge the attack, Tristan weathered it. Part of it was to see just how powerful the attack was. Part of it was showing off to Kyle. Not that it mattered. The attack hurt like hell, but Tristan had stood against worse. With his boosted speed, he was able to easily close the distance between him and the fairy and hit her with a back-handed blow that sent her spiraling.

The fairy tried to attack with lightning again, but this time Tristan dashed out of the way. No point in showing off more than once. As he ran to close the distance, the fairy had the audacity to heal itself. Annoyed by this, Tristan jumped into the air and swatted it down like a recently ignited fly.

Happy with his work, Tristan regarded how the other boy did. Kyle certainly seemed angry about something, and it looked like he was venting his frustrations on his enemies. Or he simply didn't like the demons for whatever reason. Either way, he certainly seemed like he would be a good fighter with some more experience.
