Occupation: Student, third-year
Starting Equipment: One-handed Short Sword, Slash DMG. Lvl. 1
Personality: Tristan is socially awkward. He is always nervous around people that he wants to be friends with, especially when he hasn't really met them before or if there is a large group nearby. However, he hides this behind a thin shell of sarcasm and aloofness. He feels nervous because of a sense of worthlessness and uselessness drilled into him for years by his family's actions. He might open up to a person after getting to know them well enough, but he has yet to feel that he has known a person well enough to be honest with them.
In battle, Tristan is fairly the same. He doesn't quite know what hes doing, so he holds back. However, if someone else is around, Tristan makes as much of a show out of it as possible, in order to hide how weak he truly feels.
Likes: Video Games, Instant Ramen, Walking, Rain
Dislikes: Groups, Responsibility, His Family, Socializing with new people
History: Tristan was a military brat. His parents, both in the United States Navy, split up practically at his birth. However, custody of him was, in essence, unresolved until his father decided he wanted nothing to do with his seven-year old son. Tristan's mother quickly realized that she couldn't handle the full responsibility that was suddenly thrust upon her. However, she kept him and put him to use as a verbal punching bag. Anything that went wrong was blamed on him. His father's abandonment was thrust in Tristan's face every chance the woman received as a way to keep the growing boy docile. He was constantly moving Tristan grew up believing he was worthless, of no use to anyone around him. So, one day, after saving up enough money, he left.
Tristan lived in Tokyo for a few months before he realized that something strange happened at night. While everyone else slept, a person played a very elaborate prank. For a time, there were coffins that lined the street, obviously dragged there by a group who had plenty of time to spare, Tristan reasoned to himself. Still, after seeing it three nights in a row, Tristan decided to calm the unease in his gut. He stayed up until midnight, the time he estimated was when the group first started moving in the coffins. He looked outside and saw people screaming in agony as they were transformed into coffins.
Tristan was stunned, in shock, even. He ran outside to verify what he refused to believe. What he found, instead, was that the sky was green; the moon was huge; and there was a strange, black, slime-like creature with a blue mask staring at him. Tristan couldn't move. He was thinking wildly, but he clung to the hope that he was just dreaming. When the slime attacked though, sending him flying, Tristan knew it was no dream. He started running, but he only trapped himself in a dead end. The slime was right behind him. That was the last thing he understood before passing out. As he slid out of consciousness, he heard someone talking, but he couldn't focus on who it was.
When Tristan came to, the sun was shining overhead. He had no idea what was going on, what had happened, but he was relieved to be alive. As he stood up, he heard a voice from within. I am thou, and thou art I. The young man didn't understand, but he knew he had to get to the bottom of the mystery.
