The Rise to Fame - First Flight (Party of 2;Luka)

”I wouldn't really recommend a place like this for sight seeing. Not like it is now.” Akira noted dully as he looked over the surroundings of the spire. He had grown increasingly comfortable with the place lately. A bit too comfortable. He'd need to do another sweep of the lower “level” areas before he completely lost touch with them. Well, that was a chore for later. Instead, he needed to focus on the present. While he was comfortable with the spire, it wasn't exactly a safe place. A lack of attention could lead to disaster. And it was even more unacceptable, considering he hadn't come alone.

”After all that's happened lately, the guys here don't seem anywhere near as imposing. I suppose that's a good thing, though.” He commented before heading on in, looking over at Rukako. Despite having been taken down during that fight, she did at least seem to be fine overall. Which was good, all considered. It wouldn't have been unreasonable for someone to be injured, in a less physical sense, after something like that. Luka was stronger than the average person, though. That, or stupid. Maybe both. Probably both. She was intelligent where necessary, stupid where. . . yeah.

”Let's be careful while we're here, though I trust you know that already. It's just habit on my part.” He could be a worrier at times. Seldom, under normal circumstances, but it was an increasingly prevalent thing now that common sense was out the window. It wasn't good for his health. Not in any way, shape, or form.

Luka had decided to make another return trip to the spire. However, this time she decided to invite Akira along for the hunt. The place honestly wasn't too dangerous for her, so having him along only made things much easier. Out of all the people she had met, she probably felt the safest with him. I remember coming here when it was normal. It was kind of fun to visit. Now its just irritating. Certainly, navigating this place was a bit of a pain.

Yeah. That dog was a huge pain. Literally. She had actually nearly died that time. Come to think of it, it was Akira that saved her that time, wasn't it? The fact that she almost died didn't really seem to bother her too much. It was really as if she didn't consider the consequences very hard. All of this was still very much a game to her. And why shouldn't she think so? She had gotten out of every single bad situation thus far. Yeah, I've been here a few times. It's not too different from when its an actual store. Though, its still annoying. These guys aren't too hard for me to fight. If you heal me, we'll be just fine. She spoke as if it was a guaranteed fact. Whether it was the faith she had in him or her overly confident attitude was anyone's guess.

”Could always be worse. At the very least, our main issue is navigating. And roadblocks, like these, but we can handle those easily, like you said. For now, I'll take care of the bird-woman and heal as necessary.” With that, the boy leveled his spear, and an aura went out from him. Both his and Rukako's bodies would have felt more durable. That was a handy skill. Enter battle and the enhancements started. Hopefully it'd get even better in the future. Either way, he charged in, giving the other birds a wide berth. With a swing of his halberd, he quickly realized one thing- it resisted slashing moves. Well, that was wonderful.

In response, the siren healed itself. Naturally, that healed whatever he had managed to do himself. With a click of his tongue, he instead thrust his spear into its chest. It plunged itself in rather easily. Going by that and the demon's reaction, he judged that Pierce was fairly effective. A second quick thrust, while it was stunned, pushed the demon back. The siren, howling with pain, began to sing a song of slumber. It didn't work, though. Quite fortunate, that. Another quick set of jabs, though, and the battle, or his part of it, was situated. He turned his gaze to Rukako's end of things, prepped to heal her as necessary. With some luck, there'd be no issues.

If you say so. Then I'll just do my job and clean up these guys. Pulling out her blade, Luka faced the two enemies she was left with. There was a strange bird and, a bat thing? Some weird demons. She just had to take them out like usual. She had actually faced these things once before. Actually, wasn't that bird weak to wind? Switching for her killing needles infused with the wind, she tossed them in quick succession at the beast. Anyone who watched her throw them with such precision as she ran along the battlefield could have assumed she had been doing this all her life. All it took were a few tosses and the bird's still body was sent hurdling off the platform. That left the bat.

The bat sent some sort of physical blast at her. It wasn't too bad, honestly. Her resistance seemed to cover her sufficiently. Any damage would repair itself soon, unless Akira got to it first. With a single leap forward, Luka closed the gap between her and the bat and hit it with three slashes in quick succession. It stood no chance to her raw power at this point. Pulling her sword backward, she plunged it directly into its abdomen. She pulled out just as quickly, to let the still demon slide off her sword with little difficulty. Afterwards, she flicked the blade to clean off any excess blood. Cleaning this thing was a pain given how dirty it always got.
