It took him some time to realize it, but it seemed that the burning sensations of the thunder cannon on that tank had faded. Frederick noticed the. . . blob the guy had with him. Well, everyone couldn't be a winner and have a mecha for a Persona, he supposed. He wasn't going to comment on that, though. Instead, the fact that his natural healing was far out-paced by the slimeball's healing power, by that guy's healing power, meant that he'd be pretty okay to keep around. He was already patrolling the neighborhood, so why not come together in a form of mutual symbiosis? It worked in other places, so why not here?
”Handy healing you got there.” He noted with a nod. ”Look, man, there's a lot of these things around. Well. Not right just second, but they're around somewhere. It may not do any good to kill the little guys, but it's better than nothing. Your healing is pretty cool, and I can handle the front-lines. What do you say to a temporary partnership? There's a damn good sandwich in it for you afterward- one of my house specials, for free. You down for that?” The offer was on the metaphorical table. This guy had never had one of the house specials- or, at the very least, Riki couldn't recognize him- so he might not have understood the full weight- the full value- of the offer that was just made. That wasn't to say that the sandwiches were normally expensive- they were actually exceedingly reasonable- but they were a bit difficult to get due to their popularity and limited number per day. Each “special”, especially the “house special”, was a unique treat in its own way.
Whether or not this guy understood that was beyond Fred. Either way, it'd be nice if they could clean up the neighborhood a little. He'd rest a little better knowing that his girlfriend would be safe another night.
