Maybe it was because he was a doting otaku boyfriend. Maybe it was because he just happened to be in the neighborhood again, literally. Or maybe he was just a dog chasing cars. Whatever the case, Frederick was strolling right along the neighborhood like a sort of guard dog during that evening's “Spooky Dooky RPG Hour”. He was on the prowl, but unlike a cougar, he wasn't looking for the kind of action that would get a person craving for contact. He already had that sort of action, after all. Nah, quite contrary! He was looking for street action. Crush some fools on the pavement, slash some things in the air. It was a street beat, baby.

Or it would be, assuming he'd find something worthwhile to fight. So far, he'd found dust and nothing that evening. For someone that would deny any intention that he was around to protect his girlfriend's homebase while it, and everyone else around, was helpless, he sure was pretty annoyed at not finding anything yet. Though, really, he should have been pleased that there was nothing around. After all, no news was good news, especially when news of any sort would be “strange RPG squiggles appearing and messing things up”.

Pulling his cap down a little, the man twirled his ax. For the time being, he'd just do a little more patrolling. If nothing else, he could head back to the cafe, make a snack, and maybe watch some stuff on his DVR. Or go beat up some Doritos and Dew assholes on online multiplayer.

For whatever stupid reason that made him decide this, Takumi was out and about during the Dark Hour. That meeting had convinced him that there was some goal to reach, and that he needed to be prepared when the time for it came. As such, the young man came prepared with his makeshift shield to look around the area a bit. He was still getting used to it, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. He was careful by nature. At least, as careful as one could be when putting yourself in harm's way with no method of counter attack. Still, he felt obligated to try.

As he walked around the neighborhood with an unamused expression, he managed to spot someone carrying a large axe. Great. Was this guy going to chase and kill him? Then again, he was pretty confident he could outrun this guy. Reluctantly, he walked over in the general direction of this axe-wielding possibly suspicious person. Which, isn't fair to say, looking at the shield he was wearing. The guy looked. . . nice enough. Though, he really couldn't say much over that. Perhaps it was better to be near this guy than away? After all, Takumi had no means of defense. This would be the smarter decision. After all, the people at that meeting seemed to prefer grouping up.

Yeah. Could be worse.

”Hm?” Frederick had turned and readied his ax before relaxing and lowering the weapon. His expression also turned a bit softer. More friendly. ”Oh, hey there. Sorry if I gave you a start with that. Honestly hadn't expected to see any humans around.” It was a casual explanation. What punctuated it was the blast of cannon cutting thrugh the air in front of him. Riki just sent a very dull look at what was clearly a tank. A tank. These things came in the shape of tanks now. What the hell. That was some bullshit. The man shrugged and shook his head, clearly not amused by the shape of their enemy. He sent a glance back at the other, nameless, guy.

”Case in point. Give me a minute, would ya?” Turning to face the tank, Frederick summoned Zouchouten, and the two charged- well, Mechazou charged, Riki jogged- towards the enemy. Zouchouten opened up with a smashing ax kick, and Fred, once close enough, swung his ax. Despite the enemy being, well, a tank, it seemed that both of their attacks dealt full damage, and that was excellent for him. What was not excellent was the blast of lightning that fired directly onto the oversized man. He wasn't weak to lightning, but that sizzled. Annoyingly so. His hair would have likely fluffed up, if not for his cap. What an ass-tank.

Didn't stop Mechazou from clubbing the tank again. With its heel. Which it did. With that, and the man's second swing, it almost seemed as though the fixxer-upper was then a broken-downer. With enough time, the shock damage would take care of itself, too. All in all, it was a solid fight. Hopefully the other guy wasn't some sort of doppelganger bullshit from Dungeons and Donuts. Whirling on his heel, he waved.

”Sorry about that! I had started to think the streets were clean. Guess not.” Despite the fight, he had a decent enough smile on his face. If the other guy was a human, hopefully he wouldn't have just ran away. That would've been annoying.

Takumi blinked the moment the guy realized he was there. Honestly, this guy's reaction took him a bit by surprise. Honestly, it was his pessimistic nature that even made him assume trouble was coming. From what he could infer though, this guy was probably just focusing and looking around for those creatures; as one should be. Takumi sighed in relief. This guy seemed nice enough. Polite. Well, not that he had time to think any deeper when that cannon came.

It was probably at that moment that Takumi began to truly wonder what the hell he was doing out here.

Seems this guy wanted some help with this thing. No way. Won't happen. Despite his complaints, he watched as the man got shot up with some electric attacks. It looked like it hurt. Takumi sighed, realizing he couldn't just leave it to this other guy. Unfortunately, he couldn't help out offensively, else he'd be right up in the front dishing out attacks. With some quick thinking, he summoned his slime to see if he could do something he hadn't tried before. And at that point, Takumi realized he could heal other people. Honestly, it was a silver lining to him at this point when he could do nothing on the front lines. He kept a constant heal on the guy as he pummeled the tank down. It was pretty impressive honestly. Or was this the standard for persona users? Either way, it was done with and the guy was coming over. I don't think anywhere is really clean of these things. Truly, he was starting to notice that these things liked to pop out of pretty much nowhere. What a pain.
