It seemed that fire was extremely effective! The ogre visibly wriggled in displeasure from the wave of attacks. Maybe if fire had been used earlier in the fight, the results would have been different? Either way, though the ogre did seem to be on its last legs, it wasn't down yet. And, more than that, its focus hadn't been broken! Gripping the handle of its cudgel, the ogre gave it a twirl, forcing it to build up momentum and shake the ground! Physics didn't seem to be in play, as the momentum increased despite the ogre letting go!

And then its assault began. Flash-stepping towards the healer-thing, the ogre took up an odd stance that seemed vaguely reminiscent of martial arts! It was clearly demonic arts. A thrust down and to the left dealt minor Strike damage to Akira! An upwards knee jab dealt minor Strike damage to Akira! A finishing club from above dealt minor Strike damage to Akira!

Fading and reappearing back at its club, the ogre let out a grunt and gripped the handle, forcing it to stop! The ground fiercely quaked as it yanked up a proper slab of the pavement! The cudgel looked more like a primitive, and monstrous, warhammer than anything else. However, it didn't swing it. Instead, the ogre began to spin to the point that the winds began to pick up! Without warning, the slab of pavement dislodged itself and spiraled at the party!

The pavement came slamming in for moderate Strike damage! Furthermore, it was a critical blow to everyone!

The ogre began to regulated its breathing before thrusting the cudgel into another patch of the pavement. Something seemed terribly wrong, though. It was as if its charging would result in something worse if it didn't die before then!

[Tristan Carter]

Tristan was, almost by principle, no stranger to colorful language. However, only one word seemed to be appropriately fitting.

Fuck.

It was fucking great that fire was effective. It was fucking horrible how the ogre still managed to release its energy, and on the healer no less. It was fucking worse how the ogre hit everyone with an extremely powerful attack. But it was the absolute fucking worst how the ogre started charging again, and Tristan could feel that whatever the monster threw at them next would not be a fucking good thing.

Tristan felt that keeping the creature from attacking again would probably be best. He also realized that his allies probably could see that too. He summoned Odysseus, who held a ball of flame again. As the Greek launched the fireball, Tristan hoped that the ogre wouldn't interrupt its casting to dodge this time.

That would be a fucking pain.

[Akira Nakajima]

When Akira had gotten situated that morning- he didn't have the same sleep schedule as most, so “waking up” wasn't exactly accurate- never would he have imagined his life would turn into a scene from a fighting game. No, really. A basic one-two-three power combo pummeled him. It was like he was thrust up against a kid with the basic understanding of their character's combo capabilities. It really was nice that he was a healer, though. He'd bruise, otherwise. Following the fighting game simulator, the ogre lobbed a massive block of pavement of them by means of the cudgel. Honestly, if he were to compare how he felt after receiving that to something? It would have been the surfing nonsense the ogre and the troll had utilized earlier. He felt as bad as that.

”That was. . . unpleasant.” He summarized his feelings as Hayagriva served as a platform for him to push himself up on. With a sigh as he righted himself, the boy nodded. ”Do it.” And another Mediarama washed over the humans. Hopefully, it'd be the last time it needed to be used. ”I'm really not sure what else he has planned, but I'm not sure I want to find out.” Said the one that opted to heal over hopefully finishing the enemy off faster. ”Please kill it before then.” Whether he was speaking as the one that had just taken that assault or as the healer that didn't want to have to try healing the impossible was not clear. Either way, he clearly wasn't feeling it.

Alright, time to end this! This fight had been going on for long enough now. That last hit was a pretty mean one and this monster kept going on the healer. A lot of blood was lost, but the healing magic was good enough the keep her standing for a little while. It seemed however that the healing might not last if they aren't capable of disable that one monster.

She looked the monster in the eyes and saw the boy sword throwing fire with his power, just like she did. She wondered why she couldn't do something like that, but she wasn't going to try at such a critical time. Instead she aimed one more time as this was the final bullet in her gun. If it didn't succeed she would have to reload, which could be bad. She took a deep breath and started to speak calmly. "Here goes nothing!" Before pulling the trigger and firing the bullet at the ogre.

[Luka Kurokawa]

It would seem that the ogre chose to focus a some of its attacks on Akira. Was it because he was healing everyone, perhaps? Not that it neglected attacking everyone. In fact, it managed to hit everyone pretty damn hard. Once again, Luka was knocked back down. Her butt was really starting to hurt by this point. Nonetheless, she got back up and readied her sword. By this point she was getting more annoyed than worried. This enemy just kept doing the same thing!

This thing looked like it would be going down soon, thankfully. Soon wasn't good enough for her at this point. Luka was pissed. Gripping her sword harder than usual, she ran up towards the ogre. With a leap, she smashed her sword against the ogre's face. Quite literally. She broke her training sword against its skull! Recovering from the bit of shock, Luka kicked off the ogre's head to retreat a bit. She looked down at the hilt that she was holding. She must have smashed it down so hard the sword shattered. The sword was getting quite brittle by this point, of course. It was only natural that it would break one of these times. Still. Now she was down a weapon. She decided to place the hilt in her pocket. If they survived this fight, she'd pick up the pieces and see what she could do with them. What a pain.

[Ariane Ivers]

Well, they knew it was getting ready for something terrible.  All it did was verify their fears.  And as their luck would have it, it's first target was the member of their party keeping them from death's door.  Her eyes widened, but she was glad to see he made it out okay.  At least he was before the big oaf decided he wasn't done with them yet.  Not at all─it wanted to make sure they were all thoroughly pummeled, first.

Anne had dealt enough whammy of attacks to know what one looked like.  Or, in this case, felt like.  Damn, did it hurt.  She had to admit, while she knew it had something up it's sleeve, it flinging a huge slab of pavement at all of them certainly what she had in mind.  Without even her heightened agility, all she could hope to do was take it and deal with the bruises from it later.  Thankfully Akira made it through, and the now familiar wash of healing energy went over her.  

Unluckily for them, the Ogre looked like it had something else it's sleeve too.  Goosebumps prickled up her arm.  She had a feeling this wasn't going to be any better than what they just dealt with.  Far from it, actually.  Following the swordswoman's lead, Anne waved to the Cerynitian Hind.  They had to be close.  All they hopefully needed was another good decisive hit.  Her Persona's blade left her hand again, sailing straight for the big guys face.  Anne was glad Cery's weapon wasn't something physical that could break, like the other poor girls.  That's rough.

The ogre wriggled a bit with the flurry of attacks. It needed to go faster. It needed to hit harder. It needed. . . more. More, more, more, more, more! Clearly on death's door, the ogre unleashed the entirety of its strength! It wrenched a massive block of pavement from the ground. It would be understandable if someone said a train fell on the spot. Either way, that massive block was hefted up as the beast began to twirl. Only, something went wrong. The ogre's footing was bad due to the crater. It slipped. Its cudgel turned doomsday hammer went flying upwards. The ogre had no strength. The hammer came slamming down with a thud of finality.

The battle is ogre.

Congratulations! You survived first guardian of Primal Yoyogi! However, that was not all hiding in the depths of the primordial park. There are more guardians to come!
