Blame it all on the Moonlight [Open─Party of Three]

    Don't get her wrong, Ariane loved plants.  She'd be a pretty shoddy florist if she didn't, after all.  The mess that she was faced with when she ventured into the abyss was a completely different story.  There was no way even she could even attempt to tame any of the greenery here.  Maybe with a dang machete and weedwacker, but Anne had a sneaking suspicion the plants here wouldn't even be phased by that.  Maybe some super duty weedkiller?

    Having been unsure what to expect when she decided to do some exploring, she didn't dress really any different than she normally would have.  A normal tee shirt under her denim jacket that probably wouldn't provide any protection from what she was about to see but at least protected her from the chill, jeans, and a good 'ol solid pair of boots.  Her long strawberry-blonde hair was pulled back in it's usual braids to keep from getting in her way, because little else was more annoying than trying to breath and see through that monstrosity when it was loose.

    Cracking her knuckles under the straps of thick bright green fabric that covered them, she looked around.  There wasn't anything in the immediate area, but that didn't mean that she was by any means safe.  Over her brief time in the eerie Green hour, she quickly learned that the creeps could be lurking just about anywhere and they didn't play very nicely.  The gun that strange woman had given her─an evoker, she called it─was strapped to her thigh in a mostly for show holster she had bought online.  It was pretty sturdy, though, so that was nice.  She obviously didn't wear the evoker around during the daylight hours, so all she needed was something that made it easier to grab and use in a pinch.  Anne discovered that the Cerynitian Hind could be summoned other ways too, just like she was that first night, but it was a little easier with the evoker.  That and it looked pretty dang cool. 

    Her emerald eyes caught something for a moment, and she tightened her fists at her side as she looked to see.  Further off in the distance something was certainly moving around.  Closer than that, however, she was pretty sure she could see someone else.  At least one-someone, at any rate.  Were there really other people around here that could move around freely, too?  Wouldn't that be keen.

[Seiji Dalton]

Seiji felt a little brave tonight. Two explorations in a row on one night was probably a recipe for disaster. He had to push himself farther and farther. The previous exploration of the night kingdom, or dark world, or whatever people preferred to call it, hadn't gone so bad. His Persona was a strange thing. Its endurance had yet to be tested. How much could it realistically do in a short span of time before it gave out? Perhaps the ego he was building after surviving a few fights with these things was proving useful. Or, more likely, maybe he was a few minutes away from his imminent doom. The green tint that overtook the world was getting beautiful the more he looked at it. Seiji's cold gray eyes took in the world around him as he toted the heavy bastard sword around. Unfortunately for him, his weapon didn't seem nearly as effective at fighting the things that went bump in the night as, say, his Persona. The girl that had been there during his first exploration seemed to be much better with a weapon than he was.

Off in the distance, he saw what looked to be a girl. Different people trapped in the same scenario as him were certainly popping out of the woodwork. Hopefully this wouldn't be another fight and leave before a significant conversation could be had scenario. He wanted answers and no one seemed willing to talk. Approaching her, his eyes locked with hers for a long moment. He had no intention of harming her and he hoped that was conveyed well enough. "I really need to stop meeting people like this." Seiji commented as his attention turned to her evoker. "You use one of those? You must be a fellow Persona user." Considering how a malevolent presence was quickly approaching, Seiji felt it was prudent to get his own Persona out.

Floating out of nonexistence, a familiar card fell into his hand. One crush and a shattering sound later and a small, feral knight emerged. "Something's coming. I hope someone else shows up. Three's a crowd I'd be happy to have here. And for what it's worth, my name is Seiji." He drew his sword and waited for another person or a demon to make themselves known. The knight floated off of the ground and observed the world around him. Wart was no sensor, but it didn't take one to know there were bad things hidden in the green.

[Lucretia Odovacar]

Her last adventure into the city yielded a lot of useful information for her, and left her in fairly good shape.  Summoning her persona that many times was a bit tiring, and not even patra could help with that kind of fatigue, but that was also useful information to have.  So, she allowed herself to go on another adventure into this area, promising herself not to get into a fight this time.  Lucretia was sure her body could handle the strain, but it would not be pleasant.  Sadly, she was about the find out the extent of that unpleasantness.

She heard a voice, a voice she recognized at that.  Part of her was annoyed, but part of her was also pleased to have more allies in figuring out what the heck was going on with all this.  At least this time they recognized the youkai (that IS what they were called right?) before they leaped out to attack.  She could appreciate working with a more competent group.  Before coming out of the grass, she dug through her pockets.  Today there was some broken glass, a magnetic anti-stress cube and a piece of a fried motherboard.  It was enough to hurt the youkai if it became necessary.

Lucretia emerged from the grass she was hiding in, hoping they wouldn't mistake her for the demons on the other side of them.  She would rather not be attacked by humans, plus it would distract them from the actual threat.

"Oh!" she waved to give away her presence in a way that was less likely to completely surprise them.  "Your hopes are met.  I am not built for offense, so I will stand back here."

[Lucretia Odovacar]

Lucretia's place in this battle was very simple: hiding behind everyone else while hoping to not get hit and telling everyone what kinds of magic they should use if they have it.  She would never put it like that of course, but her means of attacking were rather...limited.  That may make the fights more interesting in a way, but right now she didn't really want to get fireballed to death or something.  Not when she'd already be feeling a second fight in a row tomorrow.  So she was going to keep it simple and analyze the enemies there.  She was even willing to pass on the humans for now just so she wouldn't feel...well she didn't know, the magic equivalent of hung over?  She had to go to school after all and that gave her enough of a headache.

With a flash of blue light, a card-shape light appeared in front of her and she grabbed it, calling forth the abomination that was her blob.  It came from nowhere and formed a swirling vortex of light and shadow, its glowing red eyes emerging from the vortex last.  It didn't make any noise, it didn't move, it just stared at each enemy for a moment and Lucretia knew something about the enemies that she hadn't before.  Pointing at each, she listed out their weaknesses.

"Lightning and light, Fire, and lightning.  If you have any of those magics use them.  It will hurt the youkai more."

As the figures came further into view, Ariane could feel tension she hadn't realized was there loosen.  While she was confident in herself, it was still nice to not be alone here.  Hell, it was nice to not be alone in knowing what was happening in general.  Grinning wide, she waved.  His wording wasn't lost on her as she tilted her head to the side in mild surprise, "Ah?  So there's even more people like us?"  Glancing down towards her evoker she nodded, pulling it out of it's holster and spinning it in her hand.  "Mhm.  I'm sure you've seen the strange woman on the train; she gave it to me the first night this all went to hell."  At least, the first night it went to hell for her.  She didn't realize it could have been any different for other people.  

When another joined their ranks, Anne's grin only widened.  Until she saw the girls demeanor, at any rate.  Someone wasn't in a very good mood.  Smile faltering, she hesitantly noticed the strange way the girl said her 'I's.  It was apparent that Japanese wasn't her first language─something she had in common.  Her accent was something she couldn't quite place, different from Anne's own at any rate.  Either way, she was there to help, which she could appreciate.  Rather, up until the girl admitted to not being much of a fighter.  Her grin disappeared completely into a slight frown.  She really wasn't looking forward to having to carry someone through a fight when she didn't even know what to expect.  It wasn't as though she would just up and abandon the newcomer though, so instead she just nodded politely and smiled weakly.  Well, there was a chance she could be a healer, right?  If her brief MMO days taught her anything it was that just because she wasn't offensive didn't mean she was useless.

An eyebrow lifted as the boy summoned his persona.  It's summoning was a tad... lackluster, sure, but she wasn't going to judge.  It surely did it's job, and that's what mattered the most in the end.  At the very least it was curious to look at, as she took in it's strange almost "Frankenstein's monster-esque" appearance with the mismatched body parts.  Taking the cue that they were in an area probably crawling with baddies that could attack at any moment, she pressed the Evoker in her hand to her temple and pulled the trigger.  With a flash of light and the breaking of glass, the Cerynitian Hind appeared above her.  

Just in time it seemed, too, as a handful of demons chose that moment to come out of the woodwork.  Gritting her teeth she flexed her knuckles, dropping into a fighting stance as the demons grew closer.  Right as she was about to just start attacking, she heard the girl from before speak up.  Weaknesses?  They had weaknesses?  Well hot dang.  While most of them were useless to her, at least one caught her attention.  Light.  She could do light.

Grinning, she glanced up to her Persona.  "Cery, Hama!"  The masked woman held up her long dagger, and a bright flash of light struck down on the first demon the girl had pointed out.  As promised it howled in pain, and Ariane's new trinket seemed to do it's job as it seemed even more powerful than normal.  It reeled back in pain before disappearing.

She wasn't left any time to boast, however, as the two faeries near to her took that opportunity to hurl what seemed to be bladed gusts of wind at her.  Anne had just barely been able to pull her arms up in front of her to keep the brunt of the damage away from any vital areas, but damn that still hurt.  And it hurt her jacket, too, judging by the large tears now in it.  Gritting her teeth and scowling at the demons, she unintentionally switched to English as she said some not very nice things about their heritage.  

While their weaknesses weren't anything in her repertoire, she certainly wasn't useless.  "Cery, Skewer the one on the left for me."  While she turned and ran towards the mentioned Pixie, the Cerynitian Hind's dagger got there first as her Persona unceremoniously hurled it towards the creature.  It landed hilt deep before disappearing and magically returning to the Hind, right as Anne appeared next to it and delivered a heavy handed straight punch right into it's annoying little gut.  With a screech it disappeared after the first demon.  Not bad, if she said so herself.  

Even still, she should have known better than to get ahead of herself.  No sooner did she think happily that they were halfway through the baddies, the creepy little goblin's hands started to glow red.  Anne's grin disappeared altogether as she looked on in panic at the ball of flame that was hurled in her direction.  Just barely bringing her arms back in front of her, her whole world swam as the flames hit her.  Not cool.  Not cool at all.  In fact it was really frigging hot.  It was all she could do to avoid sinking to a knee after that hit, and while she was going to attack the other fae first, she couldn't just sit and let that twerp attack her again.  She couldn't afford it.  Kicking off towards the little green creep, she gave another straight punch, although this one was aimed at the creature's face.  It yelped, being pushed back by the force of it a bit.  It raised it's arms and Ariane flinched back, worried another ball of fire she couldn't take was coming.

Instead, it seemed to have gone on the defensive, as it started to glow.  Whatever it meant couldn't've been good, that much she was aware of.  Either way, her vision was starting to darken a bit; she couldn't take much more.  Clenching her fists tightly, she slowly backed away and switched to the defensive herself.  She wasn't alone, but she just hoped their other attacker would be able to finish the job.

This was just getting weirder and weirder for Seiji. Lucretia was a persona user as well? Was everyone he met at this point going to be a persona user? Well, the more the merrier, he supposed. He was growing confident in his ability to take out these fae creatures. Lucretia seemed to be on point, scanning the fae with her odd looking Persona and finding their powers. Well that was just great. Everyone but him seemed to have some awesome magical ability. Looking to Wart, he couldn't say he really disliked the way his Persona approached situations. Wart was, after all, him. "We may be in Japan, but this area looks like something out of Grimm's fairy tales. I prefer to call these things the Fae. At least until I get somewhere more Japanese." Seiji remarked to Lucretia while watching the new girl work.

She didn't seem particularly impressed by his Persona, this new girl. Her own Persona was odd looking. She must have some issues to work through. Still, she seemed to make short work of two of the enemies. Watching her get quickly tired out, it reminded him of his first battle a few nights before. He must have been made of stronger stuff or something. Despite his fatigue from the day's previous battles, he felt a second wind coming on. The plan had been to stay out of the battle for a bit longer but she seemed to be at her limit. "Alright. I think that's my cue." He said. Unfortunately for all of them, an opponent that had mostly gone unnoticed decided to emerge. A fairy not unlike the pixie vanquished by the first girl flew down and cast some sort of healing spell on the goblin.

Ho boy. That was just what he needed. At least things were fair for both sides now. It was a good two vs. two brawl. Him and his Persona, the goblin and the fairy.

Wart had the luxury of being able to fly even if he didn't do it so often. Rushing up towards the nymph, the knight summarily wiped the smug grin off of her face with a powerful attack. The fatal strike he gave the creature was mighty. Seiji was shocked at the power of the strike. Maybe he really was getting stronger instead of just feeling that way. Wanting to test this, he raised his blade and rushed towards the goblin. Behind him, he heard Wart deliver a few more powerful strikes to the nymph. Each strike strained his body that little bit more. Along with an increase in Wart's power, he felt an increase in the strain that the Persona put on him. He'd have to find a way to circumvent that somehow. For the time being, he rushed towards the giggling goblin and delivered a clean cut. It would have opened the creature from balls to brains but it managed to jump back at the last second.

Unfortunately for the goblin, a nasty gash was still there and it didn't seem to go away. Craning his neck to look at Wart's battle, he saw that the nymph was finally dispatched. The goblin looked panicked when it turned to see the knight as well. Looking down at it, Seiji said one word. "Boo." The tiny Fae creature turned tail and ran. Considering Wart's speed, it didn't get very far. Picking up the screaming goblin by its head, its resistance proved futile and Wart cleaved its head clean from its body. Well, that was that or so it seemed. Turning back towards the fool, Wart simply nodded before disappearing.

"You know, all things considered, that nod was basically me talking to myself considering the whole I am thou and thou art I bit." Looking to the girl he didn't know, he pulled a piece of paper out of his backpack (it was always prudent to come equipped) and wrote down his phone number, handing it to her. "If you ever want some help again, call me. As for you Lucretia, I think you know where to find me well enough. I'm going to bed." Seiji sounded tired there at the end. There was a cot on the floor with his name on it waiting for him in Takeda's foul smelling home.
