Much Ado About Nothing [Open]

The moist pieces of leftover cake from lunch bounced around in Jun's mouth as he walked down the hallways. The faint sounds of footsteps and chatter from other students were a bit irritating, but that wasn't what was bothering him. He was used to a set schedule, some sort of expectations. Today was different, however. No one seemed to have the time to talk, or do anything with him. Jun, for the first time in a while, had absolutely nothing to do.

It was making him anxious.

As he went outside, his breathing became a little more clear. His feet were already stinging from running about all day, so sitting somewhere would be a start. His hands caressed each other as his eyes darted about, trying to find a safe spot. In the back of his mind, he was also hoping that no one was paying too close attention to him. It was bad enough that he was alone, but looking like a nervous weirdo out in public wasn't helping.

Jun felt like screaming, kicking himself mentally to stay still. He needed to be calm and controlled. Eventually, he decided to sit along the frontal wall of the building, his legs curled up as he closed his eyes and breathed more slowly. His mind was counting forward and backwards and every which way, his face keeping a shaky smile. As much as he didn't want to admit, Jun sort of wanted someone to notice him. Anything to kill the boredom, really. On the bright side, his break should be over soon...

[Tristan Carter]

Tristan took a deep breath. There was a lot on his mind, but he needed to relax. He was at school now, so he needed to stay calm. Even as he thought this, he saw a young man who clearly could use the advice. The boy was seemingly frantic in his movements, even as he sat down. The smile he was wearing made Tristan feel like the boy might snap if not distracted. With a sigh, Tristan walked over with caution, looking around subtly in order to determine if anyone else had taken notice.

Tristan looked down at the boy, who was clearly younger. Against his better judgement, Tristan stuck out his hand. "Hello," he started nervously. "The name's Tristan. Who might you be, kid?" While saying this, Tristan watched the younger boy for any sort of unusual reaction. Something about the kid felt... off. Nothing else, Tristan wanted to know what that was before he simply walked away.

And, of course, calm the kid down until someone else arrived.
