Walking Through (Open/Party of Two)

This might be his favorite spot in this Shadow-infested land of darkness, danger, and oddly-colored moons. He whistled rather loudly as he crossed a street, reaching the other sidewalk. His weapon, fashioned from some old bone that might qualify as coming from destruction of privately-owned property, dangled from his finger by a black strap looped around the end of the 'sword'. It gleamed a pristine white in the moonlight, like it was made from porcelain rather than old dinosaur Shadow bone. He threw it up and caught it by the handle, releasing his finger from the loop. His ears had caught something.

Forcing a smile upon his face, Yuuki turned around to greet whoever was there. Oh boy, that meant something bad was going to happen now, right?

"Hello~!"

Kate had been wandering around the town for some time, just fighting a few Shadows and exploring. She was actually on her way home when she crossed the darkened neighborhood that would take her home. She was rather prepared for a bath and then another late night, watching stuff online. She'd probably get all caught up on Daredevil, if she stayed up a bit longer. All seemed quiet for now, but ahead of her, she noticed someone walking.

She hadn't seen them before because she didn't recognize their figure. They actually waved and greeted her when they noticed her. It was a teenager, a boy with somewhat curly hair.

"Hello," Kate said in return, when she was close enough.

Kate eyed the Shadow that popped up curiously. It was a... cupid... thing?

They keep getting weirder and weirder, Kate thought and took her bow in hand.

She fired a shot but to her annoyance, it barely seemed to phase the damn thing. It flitted about in a very mocking way and responded by firing back at her! She couldn't dodge and was hit twice, which knocked her back and almost over the back of a low wall, making her curse profusely.

She summoned Antiope and had the amazon charge the damn thing with a slash but the Shadow mockingly flitted backwards and actually managed to dodge. Kate thought that if her Persona could express anything, she'd probably be cursing too.

"Damn thing," she muttered.

A fire wave had slightly better results and threw the cupid off, but it responded with its own wide attack, a nasty blast of wind. Kate winced and felt herself getting beaten around by it, but weathered it well enough to respond with another slashing attack from her Persona. This one connected and the cupid thing went sailing backwards and fell to the ground with a thud, where it lay, dazed and twitching its wings but not quite dead yet.

A friendly voice! It was a familiar voice, too, as well as the shape. Ah, he knew this person. This was comforting, knowing that he wouldn't be with a stranger stranger but with an acquaintance-stranger. After this, she could be an acquaintance-acquaintance. But, he wasn't the sort to 'level-up' a 'link' he has with a person depending on the amount of times he has met said person. That's RPG thinking, and this was real life; he didn't want to be as bad-minded of a person as a Video Game-Otaku. Those people were scary, he thought, and barely had a grasp of what was real and what was false.

You know, since there were two people, he suspected that the Shadows would be coming if they weren't heading their way already. If he remembered correctly, this woman was not a scanner. Rucretia was usually around, or it was someone else. Now, it was two people with no clue how to fight this enemy. This one enemy. How curious.

The woman made her wave of attacks, striking true enough to heavily damage it. Now, it was his turn. The Black Knight emerged from the shade upon a wall and attempted to stick its claws into it. Such an attack was barely able to break through its skin even in its weakened state. That was new. The Cupid retaliated by firing two arrows upon his own Persona, a sharp pain welling up in Yuuki's chest. This was a new feeling too; he'd never been stabbed before. And now, it ticked him off.

The student pulled his bokuto from the sleeve and ran at the Cupid, who was still recovering from Kate's onslaught. As he made contact, the dark aura around the weapon spread to the Shadow, causing it to convulse and shake in a way that would send shivers down the spine of an onlooker. Yuuki spun around and followed that initial strike with a downward slam to its head. When that was not enough, he hopped back to give a clear shot for his Persona, which fired an orb of darkness at the creature. The impact created a small crater around it, and its small magnitude was greatly accentuated after the Shadow faded away.
