Kate hung her bow from her shoulder and shook Jacob's hand. "Kate Minola. I remember seeing you, just never caught your name properly. Is your Persona a support type?" she asked bluntly, out of curiosity.

It was always interesting to see the Personas of other people. She had an idea of who Tristan's was, but Jacob's escaped her completely. It was actually becoming kind of fascinating to look at Personas of other people and determine what they were, and what 'type'. She'd figured out so far that some Personas didn't attack, but could issue support type magic. She wondered what else they could do. Inevitably that made her wonder about her own Persona. Would Antiope evolve and grow stronger as time passed? Maybe she'd learn new skills too.

Tristan looked at the other two. Both were clearly older than him, but it wasn't by much. Not that he could tell how much older they could be. He stretched slightly until an extremely audible pop come from his back. He winced slightly before straightening out, all the while thinking of what he was going to say. Kate seemed to be a mix between offense and defense, while Jacob was clearly support. Tristan was sure the two had met before the meeting, but he wasn't entirely sure when or where.

The boy sighed before extending his hand. "I'm Tristan," he said to Jacob. "Nothing else, it's good to meet another person with our abilities. I've started wondering if I had met everyone." He gave a smile at the man before turning to Kate. "And to you. Sorry about not stepping in. Our, uh, Persona. Or Personas. Personi? Anyway, doesn't matter. They seem to grow. I was just curious about how much yours had. If it started looking bad, I would have stepped in."

Jacob was somewhat overwhelmed by the two people talking through each other. He took a moment to disentangle their respective questions, and then decided to answert ehm one after the other. He first turned to kate, accepting the offered handshake. "If we are to use these terms, then yes, I would say I'm a support type. I'm assuming you are more offensively oriented?" Jacob recalled the lady's persona, a rather regal looking lady, probably a figure from greek mythology, going off the typical style of armaments.

He then turned towards the dude that had just introduced himself as Tristan. he seemed a more brash type. He was quite to the point, though Jacob wondered how exactly how had been able to show his persona with Tristan and kate having done all of the fighting already. Nevertheless, Jacob decided not to antagonize him about it. "Right, growing personas... I think I worked out that part for myself already."

Kate shook Jacob's hand cordially. "Yeah, I guess she is. I only recently... er, awakened to her. I guess that's the right term. Cutting things up and fire are her specialties. I've been doing okay so far. She... I mean, I was pretty weak at first, just puffs of fire and a little slice. It's gotten better now, I can target multiple enemies with fire and Antiope's overhead swing is pretty hard. I seem to have developed some defensive skills too, I can boost my defense and I seem to be able to regenerate some stamina."

She shifted a little awkwardly, looking between them. They were vastly different. Tristan was young, probably a student, she wagered. The other guy, with the can, was a bit older than her. "How long have you two had your Personas? It's only been a few weeks for me. What was it like, awakening them?"

Tristan looked down at his feet when Kate asked her question. How did he want to explain what awakening was like? Should he lie and say that it was as easy as opening one's eyes? Tell the truth and let them know how terrified he was or how he blacked out from fear?

"It was," he started, feeling more uncomfortable with every passing second. "It was certainly an experience. And that's all I'm saying on the matter for now." He didn't want to dodge the question, but he saw it as the best choice. He then turned to Jacob. "How about you? You planning on sharing your tales, old man, or are you gonna avoid it the same way I did?" Tristan said it jokingly, of course, but he was truly curious. If other people reacted the same way he did, he wouldn't feel like such a coward.

Speaking of, Tristan doubted it was safe to remain where they could be jumped by more creatures. "Also, you guys want to stay here and talk, or would you rather go somewhere, oh, I don't know, safer?"

There was some fraternizing, and some snippets of explenation. And then Tristan asked Jacob how his persona awakened. "Well, I was jsut working one night when all of a sudden my computer froze on me. I'm a webdesigner you see. Anyways, I look around for the source of the problem and determine there's nothing wrong with my machine. Naturally, I'm quite confused at this point, and so I decided to investigate the break room."

Jacob took a while to collect his memories of that day. "Well, imagine my surprise to find a huge shadow tearing through the break room. Fighting what I can only assume to be another group of users. Said group was massively in over their heads, and one lost their evoker in the heat of battle. I picked it up as if by instinct, and that was when I awakened my persona."

Jacob let a short moment of silence fall. "I do not know what happened to the group of users in my basement, as I blacked out shortly afterward. But so far, I haven't found a single good lead on it."

Kate listened to Jacob's story about awakening but she glanced at Tristan. Not very forthcoming and kind of secretive but Kate sort of understood him. Her own awakening had been somewhat traumatic. She wouldn't be surprised if someone had a worse experience than her. Jacob's already sounded like a nasty business but she wondered, who were the people he'd seen?

"Jacob, did you recognize anyone from that group among the people we know are users?" she asked. "In my case, things were fuzzier. I was having a bad night from exhaustion and trying to work. I've had a pretty bad case of art block lately and it's been hell so I was very distracted. I don't even think I noticed that the world changed until I decided to go for a walk to clear my head. I got attacked by a big blob thing out of nowhere. I ran for it but..."

She shuddered. "Well, it caught up to me. I was feeling sick by then because of the air - I don't know if anyone else notices this but during this... er, dark hour, the air tastes foul. It's not really a bad flavor thing, I just don't know how else to put it. It's not like inhaling smog, it just... tastes wrong. Anyway, that thing was making me feel sick and my head was pounding. I thought I was gonna die. And then... well, I felt this warm feeling in my chest and a sweet taste in my mouth. There was a glowing card-shaped thing and when I touched it, it broke apart. And there was Antiope. Who proceeded to save my ass. I went straight home after that and passed out until late the next day."

Tristan listened to Jacob's and Kate's stories with a grim look on his face. It sounded like their situations were fairly similar to his, except they stayed awake long enough to know what happened. He didn't have that benefit (or curse), and that simple fact made him feel ashamed.

He looked over at Jacob. While the boy didn't have much to say, the other man had a question to answer. Although, Tristan had a good idea of what the man's answer would be. He already said he didn't have any leads, so Tristan doubted he recognized anyone. He held his breath, though, hoping against hope that he was wrong.

Jacob listened to Kate's story intently, occasionally nodding his head in an attempt at sympathy. Her first contact had been quite a bit more personal than his own. As he had been little more than an observer.

"Must have been hard on you" He said somewhat phh-handedly, not really thinking about how this casual manner would be interpreted. "Anyway, Tristan, you were saying something about finding a safer place to talk?" He let a momentary silence fall, long enough for the sounds of the dark hour to be hearable all over. In the distance, things moved, and more nearby, hedges rustled and things were knocked over. "I'm In agreement on that plan. So who knows the most nearby safehouse?"
