The first thing that we ask, above everything else, is to please be as realistic as possible. While we are a Persona roleplay in a fictional setting, real world laws still apply. I will also say now that this is an 'Alternate-Universe Roleplay.' As such, the events of the Persona franchise as a whole did not happen in this universe. Naturally, it wouldn't make sense to refer to characters from any of the games.
Along that topic, please no Godmodding, Infomodding, or Powerplaying either. Powerplaying is when you make yourself out to be invincible, or otherwise far more powerful than you logically should be. This could range from taking an attack your character normally wouldn't survive to performing an unreasonable feat. Godmodding is when you make a post where you basically control someone else's character or without their permission. An example would be picking up someone's character without their writer's consent and tossing them down onto the ground as if it had definitely happened, regardless of whether or not the other person could prevent it. Lastly, infomodding is when your character simply knows or is suspicious about something they normally wouldn't. A good example would be a convincing androgynous male pretending to be female. Infomodding would be simply figuring it out or have some sort of baseless suspicion. Try to avoid these behaviors. At the same time, the staff will do its best to keep things fair for everyone.
Our forum uses Liquid Time for IC interactions. To explain liquid time simply, your character can be in multiple IC threads at any given time. The order in which each thread's events happened can be determined based on what makes more sense. However, make sure to prevent anything that would be considered a time paradox.
Please do not post in an IC thread twice in a row. It is redundant in the fact that you may as well make it into a single IC post. We also discourage RPing with yourself. In other words, if you have two characters, please don't have a thread where you simply talk to yourself. In large group threads, it is acceptable to have more than one of your characters join in. We only ask that you try to limit your interactions between them. If it is a small group thread where interaction is inevitable (3 or 4 people), it is probably best to avoid putting multiple of your characters in.
For IC posts, we have a minimum word count to keep things at an acceptable level of quality. That said, we understand that there are different levels of writing ability, and often times people may be left with very little to say when their turn to talk comes. As such, we only ask for a minimum of 100 words per post which should be easily doable in any situation. Of course, you're more than welcome to make longer posts. By all means, push the limits of your creativity!
Avoid posting in the RP area until your profile has been approved. You'll know it has been approved when a staff member has approved it, moved it to the accepted section, and added your profile to the appropriate group. That said, please do not pester the staff about accepting profiles. We are generally very fast about it, but pestering us won't get it done any faster. In fact, it is more likely to have the opposite effect.
This is just to go over exactly how Personas will function in various areas, as well as things Users should be aware of not only in the Dark hour/Dark World, but in the Overworld. In the Overworld, being the area in which normal people reside (a.k.a. the real world), Personas function just like they do during the Dark Hour and in the Dark World. This means that they are fully capable of using skills and so forth. Likewise, the User is still quite powerful in relation to normal humans as a result. Weaknesses and resistances carry over as well. The only difference in the Overworld is that Personas are invisible to normal humans. Shadows, Demons, and other Users can see them just fine, however. And one final note on the topic of Personas. They can't talk, nor do they have their own consciousness. They are a representation of yourself. That said, the 'I am thou.' that usually accompanies Persona awakenings is still okay.
Please note that if you want to make a bad Persona User, that is totally fine. However as a warning ahead of time, rushing into a crowded place in the Overworld and trying to slaughter people or causing lots of property damage in front of normal people will lead to a short-lived character. This goes for all characters of course. Explicit Persona usage should remain relatively incognito for obvious reasons.
During the Dark Hour, technology does not function properly. As a result, people would, normally, be stranded in whichever ward they were when 12:00 hit. Fortunately, however, there's a unique train line that appears and functions only during the Dark Hour. Nobody knows exactly why. It allows extremely fast travel between any of the wards of Tokyo. One could reach from one end of the region to the other in around three minutes.
The Dark World is an alternate, mirror, dimension that houses the majority of demons. As time in the "real" world passes, the Dark World gradually adapts to the changes there, such as buildings being constructed, even if it's not an exact replica. Access to the Dark World is performed via a number of portals- or rips, your choice of interpretation- in various locations of unique spiritual energy. If one were to attempt traveling through the Dark World, specifically, however, there is a fully functioning train line that mirrors the "real" world's train system. Do be courteous to your fellow passengers of the demonic persuasion, however.
Finally, I will detail the 'Civilian' class here. Civilians are normal people who have not awakened to a persona. They can't visit the Dark World/Dark Hour, nor can they participate in any fights. Think of these as purely social characters. They can, however, choose to awaken to a Persona at a later point should they ever desire to. This is entirely free and can be done by simply making the request in the Persona Shop.
