Name: Crispin Yates, sometimes (rarely) goes by Spence/Spen.
Age: Twenty-five
Date of Birth: November Ninth
Birthplace: Kilkenny, Ireland
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Face Claim: Shinya Kougami ─ Psycho Pass
Appearance:
Height: 5’ 11”
Distinguishing Features: He has a pretty mangled six-by-three inch scar on his right side from the incident in America. His hair is also usually in complete disarray, as he has a tendency to completely forget to comb it.
Class: Veteran Persona User
Arcana: Temperance
Occupation: A part time gig helping out on sets for local theaters. In addition to the spare cash from these odd jobs, he has a sizable income saved up from stock investments he has been working on for years. Hoping that they don’t crash out from under him, that is.
Starting Equipment: For when he absolutely needs to get involved in any fighting, Crispin usually relies on his compact crossbow, equipped with run-of-the-mill Level Three Pierce arrows. It almost looks like something out of a fantasy movie, which isn’t too far from the truth; it had originally started as an old prop from one of his mom’s movies that he had nabbed and brought to someone to modify into a real weapon. What could he say? It was pretty dang cool looking, and he was a sucker for style.
On the subject of style, Crispin has a stylish trench coat made out of a strange, foreign material most likely obtained from someone well-versed in exactly what it is he’s fighting. The coat is considered a Level Three armor.
Personality:
Crispin has always been able to figure out things on his own. Putting two and two together from his surroundings is a piece of cake to him, though it's never really been anything special in his book. Common sense is supposed to be common after all, isn't it? Despite his ability to make sense of things easily, thinking far ahead has never been his strong suit. While he has come a far way from his childhood, he can still be impulsive and rely a tad too much on his dumb luck and shining optimism. On the bright side of this, his flexibility is almost something to be envied, and he can try to twist something to be to his advantage fairly quickly.
Throughout the years of travelling, he had met an impressive amount of people from all sorts of walks of life. Despite never staying in any one place long enough to form strong bonds (or perhaps because of it), Crispin has always been a people person. In fact, he's often at his best surrounded by people, glad not only for the attention but also the chance to work with them. He may not like to be the one planning ahead, but give him someone to do the planning for him and he'll gladly follow along like the happy little duckling he is.
Because he hasn’t had to stay in one place for very long, he can tend to get a bit antsy when things become ‘stale’ to him. If things stay the same for too long, he's bound to start getting frustrated and act out. He thrives with change, and as mentioned before, adapts very easily. When things around him get dull, he feels like he will start to too and will do anything he can to add a little chaos into the mix if necessary. Routine and planning is for the boring and faint of heart, after all.
In almost any situation, he will try to keep a happy, upbeat expression on his face and a kind word to say to anyone who needs it, even if they can’t understand him through his accent. Keeping it up all the time can be exhausting, true; but in his eyes it's rewarding enough for the hassle. He is prone to teasing people he knows well enough to do so, which can be annoying at times, but it's all out of love. When he sees it's beginning to really get under someone's skin he usually knows to stop, but even he can get carried away and push people away by mistake in the process.

▶Playing the hero
▶ ▷When given the opportunity, Crispin will gladly step forward to try and bail someone out of trouble. One of the problems with this is he can have a tendency to not let whoever it is he helped live it down, either.
▶People
▶ ▷As he’s travelled and seen plenty of different faces, anytime he gets to meet someone new or even spend time with the people he already knows, he has a grand ol’ time.
▶Causing a little trouble
▶ ▷Once in a while, he has no qualms about being a little bit antagonistic. While he wouldn’t ever dream of actually causing any harm to anyone, being a little obnoxious never hurt anyone. Right?
▶Sweets
▶ ▷While he wouldn’t freely admit it, Crispin has quite the sweet tooth. If the man is ever giving you a hard time, a good piece of candy or cake will usually placate him.
Dislikes:
▷Anything Bland
▶ ▷Whether it be food or activities, Crispin can’t stand for things to be boring. If things get to be that way, he’s quite likely to throw a wrench in to mix things up. Routine drives him absolutely batty, so he can’t sit still while things around him continue lifelessly.
▷Lack of common sense
▶ ▷More than almost anything else, Crispin can not stand for people to be dumb for no reason, or to ignore the obvious. Even worse sometimes are the things he’s fought and heard other people have, too. What kind of shrub absorbs fire? It just doesn’t make any sense. Perhaps that’s one of the reason’s Crispin is so intent on helping rid the area of these annoying creatures.
▷Being asked to lead
▶ ▷While he’s become halfway decent at planning, he still isn’t a fan of trying to lead a group of anyone else. He knows what he has to do for the most part, someone else can worry about telling people what they need to do.
▷Being Alone
▶ ▷Despite his sometimes obnoxious personality, Crispin can’t stand to be alone. Sometimes even just spending time alone at his apartment drives him nuts, and he’ll quickly find himself at some cafe or another just to be surrounded by people. Whether this is because he was constantly surrounded by others growing up or for another reason is something not even he really knows.
History:
Crispin has always been a bastard. No, not in that sense of the word; an honest to goodness, never knew his father bastard. When he was younger he would constantly hound his mother for any scrap of information he could get. No matter how many times he asked, he could never manage to get a clean answer from her. At first she would humor him with tall tales of how he was actually an alien from outer space she took in from the cold, or that just decided she wanted a baby one day and poof! There he was. After realizing he wasn't buying any of her silly stories like most babies would eat up, she eventually told him not to worry about it. She loved him enough for two parents.
His curiosity hadn't been completely sated, but as time grew on it dulled. Despite being a parent by herself, Lucilla managed to fill both roles wonderfully. Strict and firm when necessary, but calm and loving the rest of the time. She taught him how to behave, and basic manners every person should have. Especially as the son of a popular Irish actress. Winning an Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA) award really helped kickstart her career, and because of that they began to travel almost nonstop.
While she tried her hardest to stay close to home as to not uproot him so often, it was unavoidable if she wanted to continue to advance as an actress. After all, an actress unwilling to relocate for recording was just about useless. Despite his mother’s fussing, Crispin was really quite fond of it. He got to see so many different walks of life, learn so many things about different cultures as she did research for parts and he helped her, he couldn’t imagine his life being any different.
Things took a turn for the weird and creepy while his mom was working a part in the “good” ol’ U S of A. They were going to be there for a few months while Crispin was just turning seventeen and getting the chance to work on set himself a bit, when the real world began to act as though it was waiting for the camera crew to start rolling. The only problem was even the cameras didn’t work like they should while all of this was happening.
As much as he wanted to talk to his mother, to someone, about all of this as it was going on, it was as though no one knew a damn thing about it once the hour passed. It lasted for almost the entire duration they were there, and as time went on he began to meet others with the same strange power as he had. It thankfully gave him people to talk to about it, but at the same time made him almost uneasy. The more this went on, the more he wanted to know why. The few involved in all of this had almost no connections that he could place, and were his only companions as he fought.
To begin with he almost felt worse than useless. The only thing he had been able to ‘fight’ with was an almost useless crossbow prop he had stolen from the set of his mom’s movie, and a single, impractical crow he could summon from his mind. It wasn’t even particularly large, and for the longest while it seemed all he could do was make the enemies he and his growing group of friends faced weaker.
The more he fought them, though, the more he started to take note of the balance needed to win any battle. If both sides stayed the same, sure, the fight would be ‘fair’. It would just be down to who could slap around who the hardest. But even then, it ended up being pretty much up to dumb luck and chance. Crispin didn’t like that. He was able to make a change, even with his silly little bird, and damn if he was going to. It was when he began thinking along that line of thought that yes, even someone with seemingly no use could turn the tide that the little crow grew exponentially and became what he knew now as Badb.
Eventually, almost as quickly as the crazy had started, it ended. At least, that’s what it felt like, but by the time he and his mom headed back to Ireland he was almost eighteen. She had no idea why Crispin had seemed to act so strange for their entire stay, but Crispin couldn’t bring himself to tell her. How did one even explain that without coming across as crazy, anyway?
Just as he began to think it had all been a bad, crazy dream, news from Japan started to leak through the internet. It was mostly just speculation, people just moving on to greener pastures in bulk, but Spence recognized the signs easily enough from the start. The main problem was the language barrier, and after pulling a few strings with his mom’s associates he had at least a basic understanding and a cheap place set up for him waiting. His friends back home just figured it was him being him, struck with wanderlust and wanting a change of pace, but it was of course more than that. He needed to make sure it wasn’t a weird mass hysteria before, and a part of him was itching to help change the tide of battle again.
OOC Name: Neve~
Notes: While he did push to learn more Japanese for his stay, he’s… not very good at it. He can’t read more than a few scattered lines, and while he can understand it for the most part, when he speaks he has a tendency not only to botch words completely but be almost incoherent thanks to his accent.
While he isn’t very proud of it, he does survive a bit off of his mother’s sizable income. He does pick up the odd-job in theaters when he can, but for the most part he has a tendency to bum off the funds he has saved up. On the flip side of that, however, he did learn from an early age the profits in investing, so while some of his money was given to him directly from his mother, the majority of it was increased with his own dabbling in buying and selling stock when he could to keep from having to work himself to death.
Persona: Badb
Appearance:
Badb takes the form of a giant hooded crow with a skull-like pattern in the feathers of her chest. Her talons carry a large Irish warhorn, used to dismay her enemies and inspire her allies.
Persona Lore: In Irish mythology, the Badb—meaning "crow"—is a war goddess who takes the form of a crow, and is thus sometimes known as Badb Catha ("battle crow"). She is known to cause fear and confusion among soldiers to move the tide of battle to her favoured side. Badb may also appear prior to a battle to foreshadow the extent of the carnage to come, or to predict the death of a notable person. She would sometimes do this through wailing cries, leading to comparisons with the bean-sídhe (banshee). She was also regularly depicted as an active participant in warfare; indeed, the battlefield was sometimes referred to as "the garden of the Badb".
