Strolling Through The Park (Open, Party of 2)

Well, this was had not been what Marina had planed on doing when she decided to head for the park today. She had felt it would be nice to go and read on one of the benches in the park today. She was feeling better from the last time she had fought any shadows. She had stopped limping everywhere she went at the very least. So now felt like a good time to relax. Of course it was never that simple. While she was reading her book, she happened to glance up and notice it.

It was...a portal. That was the best word for it. No one else around seemed to take notice of it. She could have ignored it. Could have. Unfortunately, her curiosity was too great. Luckily enough she had her parasol on her. She normally carried one, but lately it had always been the same one. Just in case. It still felt silly to be using it, but it seemed to work. That was all that mattered. She walked towards the portal and examined it. Marina wasn't sure what was on the other side, but there was only one way to find out. She took a small breath, let it go, and walked through.

That brought her to what she was doing currently. Exploring a very different looking version of the park. It was kind of like what happened at night every day...only different. She couldn't quite explain it. Had this portal always been here? She opened her parasol and held it above her as she explored. If she was lucky, she wouldn't run into anything. Somehow she didn't feel like she was going to be that lucky.

While Fred had mostly left the park alone- he wasn't all that fond of fairy tales, you see- he did have to admit that he was curious about what areas were in that world, around the immediate vicinity of that overgrown garden and whatnot. Unfortunately, his little attempt at exploration had come up with nothing. There were no noteworthy structures around there, at least not at that point in time. The nearest thing was likely that tower, and there was an easier way to get there. All he found? Just a few stray demons chilling. Literally chilling, as two of them were frozen into what looked like some kind of kinky BDSM play. He didn't interfere with the snowman's fetish play, though. That was something he didn't feel quite comfortable getting involved with, you see.

The park itself was something a nature-lover might have enjoyed walking through. Riki? Not so much. Really, he'd be more comfortable in his little loft, spending time with his waifu, or his girlfriend. Or fragging some asshole back at America. Still, a little walk here or there wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It'd convert some of his actual-fat into more-muscle. He let his ax rest on his shoulder. Nothing major of note was going on around him. Maybe it was because of his strength, maybe it was coincidence, but the lesser things weren't bothering him. Probably was just a coincidence. He wasn't that strong. Not yet. Give him another two weeks, though, and magic would happen.

”Ah?” There was some color that didn't quite fit up with the park. Something that wasn't exactly demonic. ”Yooo~” Came a rather loud greeting as the man slid around some of the greenery. He lowered his ax, mostly to not give off any scary airs. He didn't recognize this person. Then again, he didn't recall everybody from that large dogfight. It was entirely possible that he just hadn't noticed this person. Of course, there was a chance it was someone new. If that were the case, then it wasn't a wasted trip. Well, then again, it wasn't a wasted trip if he met anybody. There was nothing wrong with meeting up with people.

Unless they were that asshole from the supermarket.

Marina had been walking and exploring for awhile now. It was bizarre to say the least. It was the park...but also wasn't. The most different thing was that all the plants seemed overgrown. Like no one had gone and trimmed them up. It was almost prehistoric or something, there were no signs of any man made structures or anything. She wasn't sure if exploring further would turn anything up or not.

It was at that point she heard a voice. She turned to where it had come from. She noticed a man she had not seen before. He seemed close to her age. Guess she wasn't the only one who had noticed the portal after all. She gave him a small wave over. Maybe he would have some answers, like what exactly this place was. Or maybe he was just as confused as she was. Either way, having company wouldn't hurt.

At that point a green horse and what appeared to be a green woman appeared. It took her a minute, but she got the feeling that these creatures were similar to the shadows. Not quite shadows, but different. They probably wanted to do her and the man she had just met harm. Marina closed up her parasol and summoned her persona. She hoped the other guy knew how to fight, since it seemed like the horse creature was aiming for him. She would have moved to help, but the green woman seemed to respond to Marina's persona. Marina didn't waste anytime and aimed her hand at the woman, snapping her fingers alongside her persona. A ball of ice appeared above the woman and landed on her. It seemed to hurt or at least annoy her.

Marina then rushed at the woman and hit her with her parasol. The green woman almost seemed insulted to be struck like that. It was then that the green woman summoned a strike of lightning, too fast for Marina to dodge. It struck and Marina felt pain like she hadn't before. It even seemed to affect her persona, Apsaras looked weary and in pain as well. She fell to her knees, struggling to stand up. The woman seemed ready to strike again and Marina felt like she couldn't move. She told her legs to get up and they were unresponsive. Was this it?

And so it seemed that meeting someone- properly, at least- would have to wait. Looked like the demons were going green. Humor aside, the enemies split up and attacked the two humans separately. Well, so long as nothing terrible happened, he supposed. The horse flew at him and shot a blast of, well, something. For a brief moment, he felt infatuated, but it quickly passed. Putting aside the failed status attack, did that horse just try to get him to come onto it? Nope. Nope to the third power. Zouchouten materialized behind him, already hefting its hand high. Against a bloody horse like that, the next attack was a sure-kill. Just the way it needed to be. Perverted horse.

”Go-go God Hand!” Frederick half-cheered, half-ordered, as Mechazou fired off its rocket punch. The fist slammed into the Kelpie, blowing it back into a tree and leaving it crumpled like a paper ball at the trunk. Served it right. Stupid sexy hor- woah, woah, woah. Horses were not sexy. That spell must've had some lingering effects despite not working. He was in a good mood, though. Success! ”How's it going on-oh shit!” Yep, good mood gone in the blink of an eye. The unnamed girl was on her knees- well, that wasn't too terrible, if taken out of context- and it looked like a coup de grace was coming. Yeah, no. He was no hero, but hell if he was going to stand by and let someone kill over in front of him.

”Nope!” With a throw utilizing the entirety of his upper-body strength, Frederick lobbed his battle ax at the green fairy-thing. He wasn't entirely sure if it would go down like that, but he wasn't going to risk it, either. The best kill was overkill, right? ”Take it down, quick!” A second rocket punch was launched by Zouchouten, promptly blasting the green thing into a literal green. . . pile of things. Somewhere beyond the trees. Coincidentally, his ax dislodged during the blast and came clanking down near the girl. At least he didn't have to go track it down. That'd be a pain in the ass. More importantly, stranger-girl. She was, uh, not exactly in good health.

”Hey, you all right?” Stupid question. He was closing in on her, though. He hadn't tried to touch her yet. Some people, especially girls, probably didn't wanna be touched by a big strange man. ”Rather, can you stand? I'm not a healer, so if you feel like you really need help, we'll need to track down a hospital or doctor.” Still, he knew how to handle the situation. Just needed to take it one step at a time.
