There was a certain apprehension to flying, especially when it was your first time. Seiji looked out the window and watched the countryside as it rolled underneath him. The plane was packed, as was to be expected considering their destination. Tokyo, Japan. The biggest city on this island nation. One of the most marvelous looking places in the world, if the travel brochures were to be believed. Given how they hadn't crashed and burned just yet, Seiji was feeling pretty good about this so far. He'd get on the ground, find this Takeda person that was supposed to be his brother, and hopefully settle into his new life. The minutes turned to hours and he passed them in a few different ways. Video games helped to fight off the boredom. Occasionally, he'd listen in to conversations that other travelers were having, either on his row or in the one in front of him. Eavesdropping certainly wasn't becoming, but it was interesting. A certain brand of excitement began to overtake him as the plane approached its destination. This wasn't a bad place to spend his third year. There was infinite opportunity in a city this big. Maybe the kendo club would have an opening.
And his dad even mentioned that Takeda worked in some sort of manga, hobby, and game store. It'd be hard for him to grow bored with so many things for him to do. Yeah. This was seeming less and less bad the more he thought about it.
Music rolled out of his headphones into his ears and only served to put him in a better mood. "Big ole Jet Airliner. Don't carry me too far away." He sang quietly, half under his breathe. The businessman sitting next to him shot him a weird look when a pale skinned boy starting singing in English. "Sorry, sir. I'm actually the singer in a famous band." Said with a perfect deadpan. The man simply looked at him and glowered before returning to his newspaper. He was probably going to Tokyo on some official business.
It wasn't long before Seiji could look out and see them descending. The jungle of neon and concrete rolled out under them. It was about nine in the morning and the sun was rising over one of the taller buildings, creating a beautiful skyline. His first view of Tokyo, he reflected, was a good one. The plane landed not long after. The airport was huge, as one would expect, and it took Seiji longer than he would have liked to find his baggage. But find it he did. There wasn't much on him, truth be told. Just a few bags of clothing and his game consoles. Seiji had tried to call his brother and ask him if he had anything but he wouldn't answer the phone. So, he just brought everything. A bag was slung over either shoulder and two were rolling along behind him. The bubblegum he'd been chewing since takeoff had long since lost its flavor, he mused, as he looked around the reception area for Takeda. The closest he'd seen to Takeda was some graduation photo of a masculine looking Asian man with black hair.
Not to be racist but, uh, he was kind of in a sea of those. He could only pray that Takeda had seen a picture of him and would recognize a sore thumb when he saw one sticking out.
