I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to
HEAVEN
Even if Haruna was already living with her adoptive family of three years, there were still a few loose strings’ that she had to deal with when it came to her former life out on the street. She’d gotten herself tangled with the wrong crowd more than a few times (as an act of rebellion against the ‘system’) and had very nearly gotten herself in what the West constituted as ‘juvenile detention’; in order to avoid serving time (as well as community service, which was something she wasn’t too fond of) she had to agree to drop by the station every once in a while so that they could check up on her behavioral patterns and such.
That was the one thing she hadn’t informed her adoptive parents yet—that their ‘perfect daughter’ had a rather troubled past. What was more, Haruna wasn’t exactly privy to dropping by and having adults poking their noses into every inch of her life… put it down to growing up ‘on the streets’ and ‘learning from experience’. “Ugh, why,” she groaned to herself as she then dragged her footsteps on the way to the local police station in Ikebukuro—her previous probationary officer had reassigned her to a new one in this region; and she didn’t understand why she had to keep shuffling from officer to officer anyway. No, seriously. I already had a thing going with the last one, it’s like she understood me… and now I have to start all over again with a new person? Why does this always happen to me?! She thought with a huff as she then entered the police station before heading over to the receptions area.
Once she’d handed her ID over and had signed in to the ledger, she then went off to one side (as requested by the rather haggard-looking older woman who was seated behind the desk) and was advised to wait; for she’d be meeting her new officer shortly.
