Putting it all together [OPEN, party of 2]

Lucretia had been doing some intense combat training over the past couple of days.  She didn't consider herself nearly proficient enough to be called even a decent fighter, but she felt like she could at least provide some passable backup if she was needed.  Tonight, she just wanted to put the fruits of her training so far together.  Rather than trying to focus on any one thing, she just wanted to try to fight something to see how far she's come so far.  

She just crossed her fingers that it wouldn't be another creature that resisted her attacks.  Those were so annoying.

Midnight struck and everything went to hell again. Honestly, Fred didn't know what the hell the point of things going like this was. Then again, he didn't give a shit, either. It annoyed him, and he wanted it done with. Still, he hated that RPG bullshit. Then again, it gave him a chance to use that ax he bought a couple years back. So he supposed it evened out in some odd, not really even, kind of way. The option of snagging a fancy-ass weapon at the museum also appealed to him. He'd never been the sort to be a thief before, but, honestly? The situation made itself that way. Nice, valuable shit was there, and, really, he wanted a good weapon. Screw legality. He dealt with that plenty during his workday.

Then again, antiques and worn weapons probably wouldn't hold up too well. What an annoying conundrum.

”Well.” He murmured, in English, to himself as he crossed his arms. ”Could always pocket some things to sell for money to get a good weapon. That's an option.” Really, financial finagling wasn't really his deal. Working honestly worked best. He sighed and shook his head, pulling the front of his cap down. Well. That was a worry for later. He hated RPG shit, but anybody knew that, to get stronger in a situation like that, fighting was necessary. The young man twirled his ax as he strode on forward. It was time to bust a move. And some heads.

This time, she heard footsteps and it almost made her jump.  Lucretia thought she had already met most of the users here already, so encountering a person she couldn't sense surprised her quite a bit.  She would have to fix that after the battle, but for now, she was going to focus on these shadows.  Hopefully he would be more combat focused than she was.  He was carrying a weapon as big as--okay maybe not quite as big as he was, but pretty close--after all.

She scanned the shadows and shouted out their abilities as usual.  She was sure that this guy would be able to figure out what she was talking about.  If she was lucky, maybe he'd be able to hit a few weaknesses too.

For now, she opted to charge towards the one that used the electricity skills since those wouldn't hurt very much.  The shadow responded by diving towards her rather than using any electricity.  She couldn't get completely out of the way, but she was a little closer than she was before.  The creature happened to drop in the perfect place to drop a statue on it.  It was an old tactic, but learning was about repetition.  Doing things over and over again was a good thing here.  While the shadow was getting back up, she took several steps back and dove into the statue herself.  She wasn't strong enough to push it, but her momentum was enough to push it off its stand and onto the creature.

That was one creature down, now it was time to see how the other guy was doing and back him up as needed.

Honestly, the man hadn't expected to meet somebody else there. Let alone a girl. Who was alone. And unarmed, it looked. Ah! Maybe she had just awakened to this nonsense and- nope. She had some sort of demonic-looking hell-blob monstrosity and apparently just scanned the enemies. In his head, Riki sighed. Someone took a damn RPG and just slapped it onto the real world. His expression? Pretty dull. He was glad to meet another person, sure! It was better than dealing with what was essentially some chuunibyo's wet dream alone. Couldn't God, or whoever, have picked something a bit less annoying, though? Why not the “King of Shadow Fist Tournament” or “The Wheel of Bait is Turning”? He dismissed his complaints. Kind of had to, with a ball of fire flying at him.

”Shit, that's hot!” The man brushed himself off, knocking ashy cinders of his sleeves away, while gnawing at his bottom lip. In response, he treated his oversized ax, that glorious double-sided monster of his, like a tomahawk and lobbed it at the wizard. Surprisingly, it lodged itself into the mage's face. Following up, Riki charged in, focusing his inner voodoo magic bullshit. ”Zouchouten, go!” He'd worry about speaking in Japanese later. If he were gonna relax, English was still the way to go. He gripped the handle of his ax as Zouchouten slammed its fist into the monster-mage. As though the polarity of the ax's blade and the mask of the wizard matched, the ax flew free and the mage flew back, right into a blast of ice from the table. The magecicle shattered into nothing on the ground, kind of like someone pouring Kool-aid into water. Except less grainy, nasty stuff, and no water.

The table unleashed a flurry of slashes. While annoying, it wasn't as bad as the wizard's fire. The combo of man and guardian machine-thing charged inward. With a powerful downward swing of his ax, Frederick realized that that thing was pretty damn durable. Not only did his ax not do too much, but it got stuck. Fortunately, Zouchouten took care of that by pummeling it with its fist. Seemed the girl did know what she was talking about. He was completely out of his element, admittedly. Well. If his ax wasn't gonna cut it- literally- then his magic voodoo spirit robot guy would handle it. All Zouchouten needed to do was utter some “Oraoraora” repeatedly, and it'd at least be anime-like. It was a shame the table was. . . whatever it was. Could make for a nice not-devil table. Either way, Zouchouten continually punched the thing while Riki crossed his arms, nodding with approval. Eventually, the table dissipated, leaving behind nothing. With that, he turned his gaze to the girl and raised his hand in a sort of semi-casual greeting.

. . . his shirt still smelled like ash.
