Munchies II [Open] ] [Party of 2]

It'd been a hard night running around fighting stupid Shadows and Kyle wanted a snack. He headed back to the ol' faithful, the supermarket that always seemed especially affected by the Dark Hour. He was starting to enjoy the idea of leaving money for the stuff he grabbed in the middle of Dark Hour and wondered how the owners were dealing with the situation. It was kind of funny, actually.

He sauntered in, his axe on his shoulder already stained with Shadow goop and his Persona at his heels.

"S'up Shadows," he challenged loudly. "You take your time getting your heads outta your butts, I'm gonna grab some grub," he said to nobody in particular, heading for the convenience food section.

So...here she was again. The supermarket. Riki had said it had been one of the safer areas to get stronger. Marina had gotten lucky then, that she had mostly fought here so far. At least she knew that she wouldn't encounter shadows that would be impossible for her to beat. Though she hoped she didn't run into that creepy multi-armed giant again. Last time she had to limp all the way home. She would really prefer to not do that again.

As soon as she entered she saw a familiar face. It was the boy from the first time she had been here. Did he just hang around here every day? Not that there was really anything wrong with that she supposed. "We meet again," she stated with a small smile. Marina figured it was only a matter of time before shadows showed up. That's what always seemed to happen the minute she entered.

Kyle turned around from leaving some money for the beer he was taking. It was that girl again. "Oh, hey. S'up, you been holding out ok?"

Of course, their relative peace didn't last. Shadows descended upon them and Kyle was looking forward to the scrap today. He put the beer down, grabbed his axe and purposefully strode towards the flying purple thing. It danced around midair, calling down a bolt of lightning. Kyle grunted when it hit him but after a momentary pause, he soldiered on even as smoke rose from his back and wound his arms back, just to deliver a crushing swing to the Shadow with his axe, sending it sailing backwards.

It reeled and attacked him again, diving out of the air for him but Kyle spun out of the way and summoned his Persona.

"Sitri!"

The leopard jumped out of a burst of light and swung its paw at the Shadow, catching it in the swipe and knocking it to the floor. It responded with another bolt of lightning but Kyle toughed it out and had Sitri attack yet again, killing it with a swipe of his paw.

Marina nodded in response to his question. It was nice of him to ask. Before she could talk any further though, shadows appeared. She figured as much. At least this time it was only two. That meant one for each of them. She didn't get the greatest look at the one that attacked the boy, but hers didn't look too menacing. It was quite literally a blob with hands and a mask. Still slightly unsettling looking, but not as bad as others she had seen.

She summoned her Persona and Apsaras began waving her arms. This was different from healing though. Soon Marina felt much stronger all of a sudden. It felt nice, like she suddenly had the strength of a tidal wave behind her attacks. However the creature decided to summon ice soon after the spell was finished. It hit and it hurt, but not a lot. Not nearly as much as attacks normally hurt. Marina guess it was because she also used ice. However it was cold and she hated being cold. She then summoned her own block of ice and it didn't seem to phase the shadow too much. It did seem to damage it more than she had been damaged though. She then rushed over and hit it twice with her parasol, sending it crashing into a wall.

The shadow seemed to melt into the floor after that. That fight was much easier than she was used to. It was a bit of a relief. Marina was stronger than she thought she was. Well, that spell probably had something to do with it too.
