The Daily Grind [Open] [Party of 2]

Kate was again out late at night, trying to blow off steam after three hours of trying to work on art and getting nowhere. She also had done a great job dodging her writing by just refusing to even open any of the documents or check her notes.

She was dreading the white page.

She'd rather grab her bow and arrows when the time chimed 12 and ran out to find some freaks to kill. She wasn't sure if it was right that she treated this as a video game. She could get killed.

But anything, anything was better than agonizing over work.

So there she was. Wandering around the darkened neighborhood and poking around in the dark alleys of it, looking for trouble. Or answers. Or both. Or whatever. It was either this or start cracking open one too many beers to deal with the issue. She didn't want to deal with the messages in her phone, people she ought to call. Nope.

She was out hunting monsters.

You know what, at least the weather is warm, she thought and grumbled as she went along, hands in her pockets but ears perked for the slightest indication of trouble.

[Mitsuki]

There was trouble in the air tonight, Mitsuki could feel it. The dark hour she had been experiencing recently, made her wary at the hour hidden at midnight. She was returning from a boring evening shift, just patrolling some random kind of area where nothing happened. Oh come on, everyone knows the interesting stuff happens either at midnight or close to dawn. Actually she once read that criminals strike more in the later part of the night then the early part. As there might still be some people awake.

Then again, she was just a greenhorn officer. She wasn't wearing her uniform anymore, she always changes at work. But her gun was still with her. She always keeps it close to her. As the clock hits twelve her entire surroundings changed. It's like again, everyone turned to coffins and electricity stops working. She sighs and goes to investigate a little bit around town.

Kate turned a corner and almost bumped into a blonde woman she hadn't seen before.

"Oh, hi--" she blurted just as she heard that distinctive noise of approaching monsters. It really was impressive how a few encounters had already conditioned her to be on the lookout for these sounds.

She grabbed her bow and prepared an arrow while summoning her Persona. Her eyes widened when she saw how big this one was.

"Well damn, that's a big one, isn't it?" she muttered and ordered Antiope to attack it with a slash.

Meanwhile, she felt a little tougher as a green flash surrounded her. Interesting, did Antiope do this? She seems to be learning new tricks all the time. The slashing attack had a mild, unremarkable effect on him, just jolted the giant backwards and he recovered, only to strike a pose that Kate supposed was trying to be sexy... and topped off with an explosion of pink like and smoke. Kate blinked at the breeze that blew past her, somewhat aromatic and sweet... but that was it.

What the heck, was that supposed to attract me or something? Ew. Just... ew.

She cringed and raised her bow, nocking the bodkin and firing. The arrow struck the thing and seemed to hurt, but not very much. The giant seemed angered and responded by rushing at her and backhanding her, hard. Kate felt herself get lifted off her feet and knocked to the ground a few feet away - mercifully, her glasses didn't break. A hit like that would've knocked her unconscious in one go in the past, but now she weathered it relatively easily.

She cursed and felt her whole chest ache from pain but as she stood up and shook her head, a refreshing warmth spread through her and she felt a little bit better. She raised her bow again and fired another couple of arrows at the big oaf as it rushed her and backhanded her again - or tried, anyway. This time Kate was fortunate enough to manage to jump out of the way and order Antiope to counter with a blast of fire.

It wasn't long before she met another woman who tried to greet her. Just as fast she spotted the girl she also spotted a rather big guy charging at them. This seemed to be trouble, so she took her gun and hold it at the charging individual. "Stop! Or I'll shoot! it wasn't stopping and she couldn't let it harm the girl. She fired a bullet at the large shadow like creature. It hit him and it hurt him, but not enough to stop it nor did it seemed that angry in comparison to the other girl. Or maybe it's just because she was closer to the enemy. Well, time to go save her.

"Hathor Heed my Call!" She said as she neared the girl healing her a bit. It seemed that those wounds would hurt if left unchecked. The thing seemed to do something semilar to what Hathor tried to do against the ogre, but it didn't work back then. It didn't seem to do anything either, but if it's used then it must have a use. She fired another bullet aiming for it's head, finishing it off for real, together with the arrow the other girl fired.
